“Perfect stay”
The hotel was perfectly located to access all the places we wanted to go. The breakfast was great. The room / hotel was exactly as advertised I wouldn't hesitate on going back.
“March in Madrid”
Excellent hotel in a great location. Reasonably quiet area and only a short walk from the city centre. Very close to metro station with excellent links to airport. Good bars and cafes near by. Very much enjoyed our stay and would go here again. Only negative on this visit; It was march and unseasonable hot for the time of year (24c) but the air con was not working at this time of year, so the room was uncomfortable at night. Use a cafe near by for an adequate breakfast, much cheaper than the hotel.
“Great hotel in a great location.”
We had a great experience at this hotel. We had children (8, 9, & 10) and saw several other families with stollers at the hotel, and I would say the staff is child friendly. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms spotless. The towels and sheets appeared to be new. The breakfast buffet was basic and did not change, but if you are a cereal person like me, it is not really a problem. There was always eggs, bacon, bread, sliced meats and cheeses, and cereal. The location is excellent, right next to one of the central metro stations (Alonzo Martinez). Around the square are lots of restaurants, including the family favorites of Burger King and Domino's Pizza. There are also a salad bar buffet restuarant, a crepes place, a Starbucks, and several Spanish cafeterias and tapas bars. Everyone will find something they like. Metro Line 10 provided direct connections to all the kid type attractions like Faunia Park, Natural History Museum, Zoo, and Parque de Atracciones. There is also a direct connection to Gran Via and Opera (Palacio Real). I highly recommend this hotel.
“A fine Hotel”
The hotel was great although the room was hot all the time unless you left the window open AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!
“Great place in a pretty neighbourhood”
I did not use any of the hotel's services other than my room, but it was very spacious and immaculately clean - just what I needed. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated recently and although the water in the shower wasn't that hot, it felt quite luxurious. I had an 'interior' room which was away from any traffic noise but still got plenty of light. The hotel is really close to Alonso Martinez metro station which is very handy for getting to and from the airport. It's not right in the centre but Madrid is so compact that it doesn't take long to walk anywhere, and the metro is close if you don't want to walk. I had a simple but tasty breakfast at a bar across the road - Cafe Santander - and found good places to eat along Calle Hortaleza and beyond. The front of house staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. My only slight criticism is that I put the 'do not disturb' sign on my door when I went out one day, but came back to find the chamber maid had been in. She did a lovely job but I did not want fresh towels nor sheets and was frustrated to find things I'd barely used had been changed - it's such a waste!
“Great base for a cool city”
This was a perfect hotel for our needs; we only stayed for three nights but would gladly have stayed for longer. Everything in the room was perfect, from cleanliness to provision of the mini-bar. We did not make use of any of the dining facilities but everyone on the reception was very helpful and accommodated my lack of Spanish. Hotel was located a very short walk from a major metro junction; but it was also easy to walk to most of the main city centre attractions, including the Prado, Royal Palace, Gran Via and Plaza Mayor.
“Safe, comfortable, affordable accomodation.”
This hotel pretty much provided just what we needed; hassle free, located within 10-20min walking distance of many of the shopping/ clubbing/ sight seeing places and the alonso martinez metro stop 2 mins away, good security (with safe inside the room), nicely decorated room with tv and ensuite. A cleaner also comes everyday. I would defo stay there again.
“nice hotel, good location in Madrid”
We stayed here for our last two days in Madrid. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom is large and had a bunch of little niceties (razor, nice soap, that sort of thing). The folks at the front desk spoke English, which was helpful, and they called us a taxi that arrived exactly when we needed it. As important as any of this is the location, which is just a block away from the Alonso Martinez Metro stop, which makes getting to a lot of places pretty easy, and walking to the museums reasonable (as long as it isn't 100 degrees!).
“Great hotel”
Brilliant hotel. Close to centre of Madrid but not noisy. Nice room. Helpful staff. Would definitely go back there. Breakfasts were amazing! Evening meals very good value.
“Fantastic weekend break”
Good hotel with very helpful staff and a good reasonably priced restaurant. Very close to the metro, which is really good a cheap. Within 10 mins walking distance to the Gran Via and 20 min to the Prado. A wide variety of restaurants are close by in either direction, so would recommend this location for Madrid.
