“review title”
Just about everything about this hotel was great. The room was comfortable and quiet despite being so close to the puerta del sol. The breakfast spread is great. coffee was so-so, but the food was good. the only complaint i would have is that their wi-fi service is completely horrible. they have 20+ connections you can select from and none of them work well whatsoever. and, even if you want to use the computer in the lobby (as i did to check on my flight status, etc.) it barely functions. It was like being on dialup back in 1997. all that being said, great location, i slept well and was well-fed so i don't regret staying here in the least.
“Hidden gem”
Terrific location in a quiet plaza minutes from Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol, and Plaza Oriente. Outstanding breakfast, and wonderful staff.
“Nice choice in central Madrid”
The hotel is well located, a block from the Gran Via and two from the Plaza del Sol. It's if very quiet, however. The service was geat, the concierge was helpful. All staff spoke good english and were most helpful. It's a good choice for a centrally located hotel. Fifteen minute walk to the Del Prado and the park. Excellent access to the metro.
“Sweet spot”
This hotel is a gem! It has a great location in Plaza San Martin, but is extremely quite. The room was very clean and tidy. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.
“Excellent location & good size room”
Palacio San Martin is older hotel with older furniture, but room is big and our room inside, overlooking glass ceiling lobby bar, was quiet. Excellent location, a block from Callao metro station and famous Corte Ingles depart. store. We walked everywhere. Very good service. Would go again. Travelling tip: 24 euro for two persons for airport shuttle arranged through hotel (8 euros less than taxi).
“Will go back”
This hotel is in a great location. The furniture in the rooms is quite modern and if you are lucky to get an upper floor room, the view of Madrid is quite spectacular. You get this view also from the restaurant. The double glassing in the windows guarantees a good rest despite the busy life in the streets. The gym is very small and crowded, but you can get a workout done. The machines looked in good order. Very friendly and helpful staff.
“Everything is so close”
This was a very nice hotel, location is central to everything - it was an easy walk to tourist attactions and several metro stations (Callao and Sol) for longer distance adventures. It has a reall four star fell. We stayed for 5 nights and were given fresh linnen linen every second day. Free internet corner on the grond floor was fantastic. It was also very quiet with double glazed windows and away from the traffic, despite the central location. Cafe and bar on the ground floor was very inviting, although the pirce of the mixed drinks was more than we expected. We enjoyed the shopping and the many resteraunts in the area. Only complaint with the hotel was the TV had only one English language station - and the format could not be changed so that the picture was very narrow. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
“You won't be disappointed.”
This hotel is very centrally located near all the important areas of Madrid. It is within walking distance of the squares, restaurants and clubs. At the same time it is in a square that is quiet and private. The hotel staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful. When we locked ourself out of our safe, they came and opened it within 5 minutes, no questions asked. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and impressive. The architecture is spectacular. The room was large with a private balcony overlooking the square. It was comfortable, including the bed. We had a desk, chair and small table. The bathroom was wonderful, large with a huge tub and shower. As an added plus, the hotel has an enclosed atrium sitting area with internet access and food and a bar on the ground floor. Very inviting and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The top floor is the restaurant with a panoramic view of the city. If you need a hotel in Madrid, this is where you should go. I can't recommend it more highly.

The overall satisfaction with the hotel was exellent. The people from the front desk extremely friendly.
“Great location”
Hotel near the SOL Metro station (central),transfer to airport very easy I prefered EMT just 2 euros .plaza de cibeles about 1,5 km from hotel.
