“Winter in Lund”
Hotel Lundia is easy to find from the railway station in Lund. The hotel was warm in February and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was always excellent and had a wide selection. The reception staff were both friendly and knowledgeable of their town. The bikes available for residents' use was a bonus - the first time I had ever cycled a bike that you back-pedal to brake, Great fun!
“Very modern, clean hotel!”
The hotel was excellant by all accounts. Rooms were very modern. Very adequate for my needs. The toilet was the highlight for me with very modern fixtures and fittings. It was also a "wet room" which is much more practical. The shower was amazing (powerful)!! The staff were either English or English speaking Swedes who were always more than willing to help. The hotel itself is very central. Very easy access to Lund itself and also the bus & train station is only 5 minutes walk. I cannot comment on the food available. I tried to get out and see as much of Sweden as possible, so I ate out :D Only thing I will advise is that WI-FI internet access, as far as I was aware, is not available. If you will require internet access, pack required cables ;) To summarise, very impressed and would definetly book again!
“Very lovely and comfortable bed and had personal sauna! Would go back anytime.”
If you would like a nice modern hotel with friendly staff and comfy beds then the Lundia is for you. We were upgraded to a suite that had it's own Sauna and that was fab. We had two TV's, both B&O so great quality TVs. Two showers and a top floor is recommened (they have a bit of a disco on Friday nights but it really isn't very noisy). Hotel is in a very central location, close to all shops and many bars, cafes and restaurants. Watch out for the cyclists and the uni students - there are hundreds of them!
“Very satisfied”
The hotel is a block away from the train station and in a central part of Lund. It was an extremely comfortable room and the hotel staff was accommodating and friendly. The free breakfast every day was an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel highly.
“Hotel Lundia - a very good choice for Lund”
This hotel is very convienet to the rail station -- 2 min walk situated in city center, close (3 min walk) to the historic town center and the all Staff is extremely friendly and professional The breakfast included is superb definitely a first choice for Lund
“Regular visitor to Lund”
Excellent location, well appointed, good services but inevitably some noise from pedestrian area outside. First class breakfast
“Interesting decor”
The hotel rooms are interesting for their Scandinavian interior design and furnishings. The window in my room on the 3rd floor had a pleasant view over the adjoining rooftops. Being so close to the train station (about 100 m down a pedestrian mall and across the street) is helpful - not to mention the adjoining shops and cafes. The only quibble I had was that I had thought I would have an internet connection in my room but was told on arrival that I was in what was considered an economy room (!) and so could not connect there - but could in the lobby (which I didn't have time to try).
“Centrally Located”
Barring the fiasco of the first day where I was given very little service at all after flying all day and night and taking the train, and dragging my luggage across the cobblestones with a now broken wheel....the service was okay. When I asked for wake up calls they were on time. When I asked for directions to the post they were very useful and easy to follow. The included breakfast buffet each morning was superb as long as you weren't vegan. There were several beverages to choose from, always yogurt and berry compote, cereals, breads, meats, herring, salmon, cheeses, and hot dishes. The location is great, close to Lund University and the train station back to Malmo or Denmark. There are several options for food nearby or at a short walk. The hotel restaurant is pretty expensive so I don't suggest eating there often if you can avoid it. I went once, for almost 300 SEK. I had the vegetarian dish, coffee, and creme brulle. My room was the least expensive, twin single room, but the bed was comfortable and the room was kept warm (it was December). I always had clean towels, and a neat room when I returned.
“Average hotel in good location among few available choices”
The Hotel Lundia sits at a very convenient location just a short 100 yard walk away from the Lund train station. It is a business style hotel, and the staff is very courteous and helpful. However, the building, rooms and facilities are showing age, and the owners (who also own another nearby hotel) have chosen to milk the cow instead of invest in updates and improvements. Just fresh paint and carpet, along with some new coffee pots in the breakfast room, would alone make a huge difference. Bottom line: convenient location next to the rail station, friendly and helpful staff, rooms and fixtures a bit tattered (as maybe they should be in a college town anyway?), no A/C in rooms, relatively high room rates in a town with few hotel options. If you need to stay in Lund, this is as good a choice as any among the options; otherwise, you can stay in Malmo where there are many more options at comparable or lower prices with higher quality and take the train to Lund (which runs every 10 minutes or so).
