We were very happy with the Mayfair hotel. It was at walking distance from the train station. We were coming from Copenhague. The room was large and comfortable. You are right in the middle of Malmö and yet it is very quiet. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good and the price was honest. You must experience the breakfast buffet in the arched basement. Food was great and for all taste. The brick environment was like going back in history,

The Mayfair Tunneln was a beautiful and charming hotel that offered the feel of living in old-world Europe. The location was excellent: 2 minute walk from central station and also close to downtown highlights. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great quality and one of the best features. Overall we highly recommend this hotel!
“Great Location, Quaint Hotel, Amazing Breakfast!”
We were in Malmo for a wedding. This hotel ended up being the perfect spot for us to get around to/from wedding & reception and is such easy access to the main square and the location sights. The beds were extremely comfortable, the room was spacious (especially compared to European standards), the staff was very pleasant and the breakfast (included in price) was amazing! Would highly recommend this place if you'd like to have something a little smaller and more quaint than the typically hotel.
“Hotel with character”
This is an quiet, elegant hotel with much character and comfort although lacking in certain facilities (air conditioning, fitness room) and not suitable for visitors with disabilities. The breakfast is excellent, served in a vaulted cellar dating from 1307, although much is made of the fact that two of The Beatles once ate there (having been refused entry elsewhere). The hotel staff are helpful and charming, and complementary tea/coffee is available in lounge areas. The delux bedrooms are lovely with exposed beams and comfortable beds, whereas the standard single is cramped with a view into a service yard. The hotel is walking distance from the central station (20 mins to Copenhagen airport) and all main sites and shops.

I would recommend this hotel. It is in a convenient location off the big square in Malmo. It is a block away from the train station, so if you fly into Copenhagen, you can literally walk your luggage to the train and once in Malmo walk a block over to your hotel. The hotel itself has a lot of character and the rooms are up to date, though on the small side. They have free wifi in some of the rooms as well as free wifi in the lobby, but you have to get a login and password from the person at the front desk. The front desk staff were hit or miss as far as kindness and helpfulness are concerned. I inquired about upgrading my room and was repeatedly given the run around: 'I don't know how to do it, come back tomorrow morning'. Even getting the woman to go to the computer to check availability was difficult. "I don't know" seemed to be the response from the night staff when inquiring about a login for wifi access as well. I would likely stay here again if I was ever in Malmo.
