“Very Nice Hotel”

My stay at this hotel was excellent. Since I am fluent in spanish, I had no problem communicating with staff. I read some expedia reviews that do recommend practicing your spanish, just in case.

“Awesome Nicaragua Resort”

Loved the resort. The amenities suited all of our needs. Maybe they could have more beach chairs. Was also disapointed that the drink cups were so tiny. For such a warm country larger bottles or glasses are needed especially for water. I ended up refilling the fridgewater bottles during the day.

“The Good, the Bad and the Great”

The Barcelo Montelimar provided a great vacation experience. I will break this review into sub-parts. Customer Service: The customer service was fantastic. At one point I caught a case of Montezuma's Revenge and the staff went above and beyond. We were able to reschedule an excursion, and they even made me a bowl of chicken soup and delivered to my room free of charge. Excursions: We took a day trip to Volcan Masaya, El Mercado in Masaya, Grenada, Las Isletas, and La Catarina. We hired an English interpreter who showed us around each location. It was affordable, and took the entire day. Felt safe the whole time, and went at our own pace. Hotel: Clean, BIG, amazing beach. The hotel is definitely a walking hotel. My wife had a pedometer on and averaged about 5 miles/day. The sand on the beach is dark with shells, but super soft! I had never felt anything like it. The bars were okay, but the time to eat dinner was sporadic. There was only one restaurant to eat at per night, and finding where it was presented a challenge. The buffet was nice, with a variety of foods. The beef has a really good flavor, but tough. Nice dessert bar. The snack bar is awful. Food is mostly stale but if you show up at noon (when it opens) it is edible. Drink the rum - it is great. We were originally placed in the Tower, but requested and received a room change to a cabana and was glad we did! The cabanas are wonderful if you don't mind walking.

“Perfect beachfront getaway, All the people that worked there were super friendly”

Beautiful pool , beautiful beach, everything perfect, secluded , the people who ran buffet were totally friendly and helpful always , the cleaning lady was so helpful , answering our questions and giving us a heads up on everthing our room was perfectly clean and comfotable, we asked for a cottage at checkin and price was the same , get cottage! close to beach!

“Looking forward to going back!”

We stayed in the Cabanas. They were spacious, clean beautiful view of grounds and loved the hammock on the porch. All pathways gave easy access to pool, gym and steps to hotel lobby. Food at main dining room and at snack bar was very good. If you take children they will love being able to swim up to the snack bar and you won't have to worry about their snacks/drinks in between meals. The Hotel Entertainment group work very hard during the day with activities for guests and again at night with their different musical reviews!

“Beautiful, clean beach”

We stayed in one of the bungalows, and they provided a great deal of privacy. They had more traditional type hotel rooms that provided closer access to the front desk and dining area. The pool was large and clean, and the buffet-style meals provided a large variety and were of good quality. The casino had a roulette table that was not open when we were there, and only had one blackjack table open.

“Great Place to Relax”

Overall we were impressed with the hotel, staff and location. Great place to relax and unwind with the chance to visit other places close by. Would recommend this resort and would definitely go back. Staff friendly and helpful.
