“Lovely hotel”
Great hotel, the staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. I loved the typical Morrocan syle of the hotel and the landscape surrounding the hotel was beautiful with great views of the mountains. The only thing I would stress is the location is a bit of a hassle when getting to and from the centre of marrakech.
“Throughly relaxing stay”
What a beautiful place to stay! I stayed for 5 days at the Kasbah and found the staff extremely helpful and they put you right at ease. they run a car into the busy bustling centre every day then to come back to peace and quiet in the evning is fantastic. I throughly enjoyed my stay but would recommend people brushing up their french skills as language can occasionally be a slight issue.
“A great rest.”
This hotel is what it says on the tin, 30mins out of the noise and busstle of Marrakesh. A lovely pool next to which we sat and ate dinner gazing at the Atlas mountains. Three course meal was varied every night; lunch was basic but fresh; breakfast was bread, jam, orange juice and tea or coffee. Staff were lovely. Laid back, friendly and so helpful. Massage treatments on site and possible excursions very interesting and not over-priced.There is nothing to do locally unless you go into Marrakesh by complementary taxi but we went in the heat of August 40 degrees, so just chilled by the pool and read books.Beer was twice the price of UK but everything else was absolutely lovely.
“Expensive food/drinks”
The Kasbah is a lovely hotel in a scenic location, with a great view of the Atlas mountains. But, it is very remote, some 26km from Marrakech. There is nothing to do locally, and a taxi to/from Marrakech is 350 dirhams, which is over ten pounds each way. Or you can take the hotels shuttle bus, which runs twice a day at specific times. The price of the bottle water is quite frankly extortionate. For an essential that tourists rely on, 30 dirhams is far too much, given that in Jmaaa square it was only 6 dirhams. we bought our water back from the square. Beer and wine prices are reasonably competitive but the food is expensive and limited choice in the evening. the staff are really friendly and were understanding when we broached the subject of the expensive food but at the end of the day its up to the owner to respond accordingly.
“Stunning views”
Sometimes description of the hotel on the website is completely different than in reality...but not this time. Kasbah is absolutely amazing. Looks like the Palace. Everything is made in moroccan style (even room keys) ;P 20-something km from Marrakech, surrounded by olive trees gives you opportunity to take the rest, contemplate beauty of Nature ( wonderful view on Atlas Mountains). It is convenient for families and people who enjoy not only busy cities, shops, restaurants (although it's not too far from Marrakech - hotel arranged Taxi for us to go there). Hotel staff - very helpful and friendly. Our daughter she loved them all :) Absolutely delicious local food ( expensive but worth it's price). What's more? We're looking forward to go there once more. One day ...
“Excellent but........”
I enjoyed my 1 week stay very much at the Kasbah - however be warned, the food and drink in unbelievably expensive. As an exemple 1 Tagine is priced at 5 times the value of what you can get elsewhere. The equivalent quality and possibly even a larger Tagine can be enjoyed in the markets for 30 dirams. The same goes for the drinks.
“A relaxing stay”
The hotel is modern and beautifully decorated but is about 30mins from Marrakech so not ideal if you are wanting evenings out, unless you want to pay for taxis all the time. However, for a relaxing break, the hotel is perfect, quiet and seculded. The evening meals are traditional and well presented. The staff are very helpful and corteous, although only a few speak English. They do offer some great excusions though, the one to the desert through the mountains was excellent with our own driver and car and excellent value for money. If you want a relaxing holiday with the oppotunity to explore areas other than just Marrakech, the hotel is perfect. The views of the mountains from the pool are also breathtaking.
“Fabulous hotel!”
Really can't put into words the hotel is wonderful. The size is perfect not too many rooms so not crowded and a really personal service, it felt like we were in our own private villa with butlers! The manager and staff can't do enough for you, they can organise everything. A must stay!!
“Great Getaway - Quiet and calm”
Please, please, please do not stay here if what you want is a busy, loud, entretainment packed hotel close to the centre of Maarakech. You're complaints and whining to other visitors may spoil their lovely relaxing, quiet, calm break! We stayed for a week in August and loved it. It was beautifull, quiet and relaxing. The staff were freindly, helpfull and had a great sense of humour. The owner made us feel like part of a family rather than tourists, the food was gorgeous but the choise was limied (I would strongly recommend half board as there are NO other local places to eat). The price of lunch and drinks was very similar to that in the centre of Marrakech but the quality was much higher. The daily free shuttle sevice is excellent but returning at 6.30 would mean missing the evening fun in Marrakech. The hotel can organise taxis for you (including to and from the airport) which I would strongly recommend as all our other ones ended in disaster and getting lost! We deicided to break the week up with one night in another hotel in central Marrakech - this worked well. The shuttle dropped us off at 9.30 one morning and picked us up at 6.30 the day after - this was plenty long enough in the bussle and heat. Book it and enjoy peace and quiet!!
“A unmissable experience”
The reviews on the Kasbah Caracalla were spot on with exception to the few moaners who hadn't done their research or probably wouldn't have been happy any which way. The fact of the matter was the Kasbah Caracalla offered the very best of both worlds; total relaxation, luxury, stunning natural beauty, style, service, delicious food, isollation, comfort, friendliness ....Perfection. Coupled with the opportunity to jump in a free shuttle to throw yourself into the madness of Marakesh.....but leave it behind at the end of the day to relax and reflect.
