“wailea”
excelent rooms, view, gardens and pools. the beach is great.
“Great Pools!”
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The pools were great. The room was comfortable and the view was great.
“Truly a gem”
One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. Our room opened into a garden full of lush plants and colorful birds. The staff was unobtrusive and uniformly excellent and the hotel amenities were superb. We will definitely return to this little paradise.
“Don't miss it. Too good .. Have to return !!!”
An awsome 8 days experience. Luxuous hotel, I think that you'll have a great view, wherever your room is. Soft pink sand beach, colorfull gardens, waterfalls and fish. Many pools, so even it's a familly place, was peacefull, we were able to find a calm place, and long chairs easily, every day. Many convenience. A huge fitness center !!! The food is sooo good! We ate very well. The cost ( eat and drink), higher than we thought, we took a walk to glance at the Four Seasons Hotel's restaurants, and it was higher there. At the corner, up next to the hotel, a luxuous outdoor shopping center with restaurants. A place to return ... Mahalo!
“Lots of fun, but more expensive.”
Wonderful hotel for both kids and adults. The lazy river is a blast and the adult pool is a nice place to get away. The beach is terrific for just hanging out, snorkeling or boogie boarding. Grounds are very nice and the restaurants have all the necessary foods/drink. The food and drink at the hotel is pretty expensive, but there are shops right next to the facilities for getting some groceries and snacks. To minimize costs you will want to do this. Especially if you like an adult beverage at night.
“Painfully expensive, but beautiful”
Wonderful, friendly people throughout the resort. the spa is amazing. Great restaurants in Wailea. Maybe a bit uncomfortable.for a solo traveler. I was the only solo guest at most restaurants, but met some very nice people who were curious about a woman traveling solo. The cost of everything in the resort is shocking. A 2 liter bottle of water was $7 in cafe kula, the store in the hotel. Same bottle of water at Safeway just two miles away was $1.99. This year parking was not free to guests. Be prepared for the $30 per day parking fee and the standard resort fee of $25 plus the daily tax on above of $3. it adds up after a week or so. When you stay at a resort like Grand Wailea you know the room is expensive and are prepared for that. It's the nickel and diming that make this one very pricy destination. Still it is really very pretty.
“Consistently superb”
This was our fourth or fifth stay and were not disappointed. Top notch service and the best grounds of any reaort in the area. They charge a lot but they do deliver. Got great recommendations from staff for restaurants and activities.
“Great resort - condos = childrern”
We stayed in the three bedroom condos, and had one hotel room. The hotel itself was great, with facilities for children and beach front for all. Both condo and hotel were beautifully clean and spacious. Whilst the condos do have their own pools, there was a bit of a hike across the road to the hotel proper and beach. In the morning there were lines for towels and wrist band registration for pool use, and lines again to have chairs and umbrellas arranged on the beach. Rental of surf/paddle boards and equipment is an extra charge. Add $25 per day per room to your bill for "resort charge". Restaurants and food is expensive on the islands, so with a family of 9 we ate in our well appointed condo which had its own lanai and bbq. I would take a condo rental again over the hotel room, especially when children are involved and think positively about the ten minute walk down to the beach - bring your own chairs too to avoid the line, then you can put them where you want!
“Awesome Maui vacation in December”
Grand Wailea has the most beautiful and well kept grounds. The fitness room is very well equipped. I enjoy the jogging trail along the beach. Staff are courteous and friendly. Our Ocean view room has a spectacular view with personal cabanas. The pool lunch menu was a bit pricey but they offer large portions and quality foods. The beach pass is a MUST if you want to test out different ocean equipment. My family used it everyday. The pool and waterslides were so much fun. Despite forecast of rain in Maui, the south side where we were, was sunny all week. This is a resort that we'll definitely return in the future.
“A nice vacation”
Overall the Grand Wailea experience was just a lot of fun. There were the lines in the morning for premium spots near the beach or the pools but that is fairly consistent at most resorts. The breakfast buffett is a rip off but other than that I think the location, the staff, and the amenities could not be any better. For the mainland travelers there is a Costco right next to the Airport and it is a good idea to hit it for some snacks and drinks. The bell staff is very gracious in helping get your goods to the room. Our 3 kids age 13-18 thought it was heaven on earth.
