“Solid”
We had a lovely time at the hotel. Central, clean and easy to find, it was perfect for our short melbourne stay. The one thing it is lacking is great wireless internet, of this quality of hotel I think it should be available, and free.
“Lovely little hotel in Melb”
If your simply after a bed and toilet whilst travelling, this is the place to go for personal security. The rooms aren't huge, however if your travelling, what else do you want from a hotel. Literally in the heart of the city.
“clean, comfortable and close to all CBD attractions”
I was very impressed with the standard of the rooms and general appearance of the hotel all over. for an inner city hotel it was very reasonably priced too.
“Best Melb CBD Location”
This hotel on Little Bourke Street is smack-bang in the middle of the Melbourne CBD. You are in walking distance to absolutely everything the city has to offer. I was also impressed that there was an iron & ironing board already in the room....t his is so rare in hotels these days.... usually entails a phone call to reception and a delivery 30minutes later. Also tea & coffee facilities were in the room .... this also is rare these days. Nice work Mercure Welcome ! I will be staying again if needs be.
“Great value - great location”
The location was perfect for shopping.
“'Simply' Perfect”
Had booked this hotel on Expedia about 6 weeks in advance for best rate anywhere. The hotel room was fantastic for the price, very simple and on the smaller side but nothing more was expected. The location is A+ in the centre of the CBD and walkable to any city destination. After reading the reviews on here, we requested a room away from the lift (due to noise complaints from others) and the staff were more than happy to allocate a room not only further down the hall but also on a higher floor so we missed the street noise too. Very friendly and accomodating staff and willing to help with various enquiries. Stayed 4 nights at the Welcome and overall very happy.
“awsome”
AFFORDABLE! nice rooms 10min walk from river
“great location”
Great location, clean, and comfortable with no traffic noise. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Staff were polite and helpful. Only complaint - the air conditioning was pretty noisy and if there ar noisy people in the rooms next door you can hear them.
“will be staying there again”
it was so convenient. everyone was friendly and helpful. the room was just great forwhat we we wanted. we will be back. thanks
“Centrally located hotel”
The Mercure Hotel Welcome on Little Bourke Street, or the Welcome Mercure is attached to the Swanston Hotel Melbourne Grand Mercure on Swanston Street. (apperently there are 9 Mercure hotels in Melbourne) Both hotels share the same front desk. It is located in the Central Business District and in walking distance of everything that a traveller would need. I had issues connecting to the internet, but it was resolved the next day. The room was clean and the staff very nice and welcoming.
