There are walking and jogging tracks along the Yarra River just opposite the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne. Rowing is also available on the Yarra. “Fantastic Location, Friendly Staff”
I had a fantastic room, very comfortable after a long flight! The facilities were great, the staff were very helpful and the hotel is in a great location in able to explore the city.
“Would stay there again!”
The best thing about the Rendezvous Hotel in Melbourne is its location. Right in the middle of Flinders St, the train station is a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel and a tram stop is virtually right out the door! Plenty of cafes near by too. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Rooms were a good size, clean and have a great view over the Yarra River. Definitely worth the price!
“Best location and price!”
This hotel was centrally located: right smack dab in the middle of the riverwalk, Federation Square and shopping. The hotel has a classic feel yet is split into two sections: the old and the newer trendy side. I prefer the trendy side rather than the classy brocade/velvet side. You'll know what I mean when you see the rooms. Hotel staff was extremely helpful with directions and planning side trips throughout Melbourne and its suburbs. Hotel is also located near all restaurants both expensive and fast food. Definitely recommend especially for price and the location.
“It's the people who make the place happen”
This was my first visit to Melbourne. I liked the fact that the hotel was right in the city. I walked everywhere...which really worked out well for me. Especially since parking was expensive and the driving on the left side of the road would only have stressed me out. Plus having to deal with the trams would only have made me hate the place. The hotel is on a very busy street, so for other travellers just beware dealing with traffic anywhere is never a joy. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and helpful and this to me, made the place a "Happening Place". I loved their version of the city map ...pocket size..I really enjoyed my stay there.
“Clean, Comfy, Cheap”
Arrived early and reception said they had a river front room booked but it was waiting to be made up but if I wanted to check in straight away I could have another room, I took the other room as I was in desperate need of sleep as had been travelling all night, the room had an awful buzzing from the a/c units in the laneway below so I asked to have the orginal room selected for me. I waited until it was ready, no big deal as was happy to do some retail therapy while waiting until offical check in time. The room was great good veiw of Southbank and Flinders St Staion, double glazed so really quiet and all fitting very modern and clean. I recommend upgrading to a commerce room as they have been recently renovated. I was on a girls weekend so the hotel was perfect for this purpose, close to shops, theatre and transport.

The welcome on arival and first impression was a good start.The rooms well set out and clean the bathroom prefer just a shower not bath/shower. The bar area could do with some work as in seating condition etc.As for the rest of the hotel it is a great place to stay I would go back again.

“Very impressed”
Had a very comfortable 2 day stay. Room quiet and warm. Impressed with after hours security - couldn't just wander in, the doorman needed to let you in which was good. Wouldn't take the car next time. Valet parking expensive and could walk or catch tram all atound the city - free city circle tram stop just outside door. Walking disctance to MGC, stations, shopping, crown complex etc.
