“Great Locationh”
Great location in Southbank. Close to Restaurants, city and Melbourne Park for tennis. Rooms are good size and great to have kitchenette facilities. Beware of rooms 118/119 and 218/219 which are very noise in middle of night. This is because the rooms are situated above the Service Entrance and you hear the rumbling of carts loading about 3.30am every morning. Also the Grille Gate going up and down every night is very disturbing. However if you request not to have these rooms, the hotel is of high quality.
“Great hotel for a great time!”
Great location, very upbeat and easy going. Staff are very helpful!
“Elegant Hotel, Close to the river and city location, Clean and Nice.”
This is an excellent place and a definitely recommended stay. The food is a bit on the expensive side though - I am not sure if it all through australia. There is a fine pickup drop facility from the airport via Skybus and Transfer and you get picked up right at the hotel. A few points to improve though, would be wireless connectivity (expensive), better maintenance of the bathrooms. Overall the week spent was to my great satisfaction and my first visit to Australia was pleasurable.
“Wouldn't stay anywhere else!”
This was my second stay at Travelodge Southbank and I wouldn't stay at any other hotel in Melbourne. Great location, close to everything, very quiet. Rooms are more than adequate, very comfortable and have everything you need. Hotel is within an easy walk to Crown, DFO, Bourke Street Mall, the free tourist tram stop, MCG and Etihad. More than happy to recommend this hotel to anyone going to Melbourne.
“Top choice for Melbourne hotel”
The hotel room itself is well appointed with good facilities (kettle, microwave, fridge & tea/coffee). It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel is fantastic - easily within walking distance of all main attractions of Melbourne. I was at a conference at the Exhibition and Conference Centre on the Southbank, and had a short, pleasant stroll along there in the morning to attend the seminars.
“Location, location, Location!”
Excellent position of the hotel, Wilson parking $6 after 4pm and on the weekends adjacent to the hotel. We had a room on the 9th floor with reasonable view. Eureka Tower is just outside the hotel as is the walkway over the Yarra river to Elizabeth Street. The location - you are on Southbank, short walk to the Casino, lots of shops and restaurants. The breakfast was Ok. If you not after luxory there is not need to look any further.
“BEST PLACE IN THE CBD”
have.stayed before this time was just asgreat staff all ways plesant and helpfull
“Fantastic Location and a Great Rate with Breakfast”
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Travelodge Southbank, Not much of a view, But we were in the room from 10pm till 8.30am so the view didnt matter. The breakfast was tasty and a good variety,(not 5*) but a very good selection of cereal, fruit, juices, and hot food as well as tea and coffee. The location is fantastic , so close to the Casino where there are a great number of restaurants and a 3 min walk to Flinders st Station and 2 mins to the trams. We had a great time in a very clean and comfortable room with very heavy curtains to keep the light out in the mornings. would go back there instead of looking for a better place as I dont think there is one when it comes to value for money, and that meant we could do more in Melbourne..
“SOUTHBANK TRAVELODGE GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY”
This is a straightforward, well managed, well presented hotel with few frills. It is beautifully located in one of Melbourne's most central and interesting spots right beside the Arts Centre and a few minutes walk from seemingly everything. The rooms are clean and comfortable and well sized. Bathrooms are especially functional. Broadband is via fast and reliable ethernet, not the scatty wireless system increasingly used. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are quiet and have a functional air con system. The only item needing attention was a non-functioning globe. The breakfast arrangements are basic but satisfactory.
“Great Position”
Value for money. Wonderful location - would definitely stay there again.
