Property Amenities
The Camino Real is three blocks from Mexico City's grand boulevard, Paseo de la Reforma, and Chapultepec Park. Imagined as a hotel-museum by Architect Ricardo Legorreta, the Camino Real opened to the public on July 25, 1968, combining modern architect profiles with obvious pre-Hispanic pyramid influences. The hotel features massive public spaces, approximately 600 works of contemporary Mexican art, and 33,000 square meters (eight acres) of landscaped gardens distinguish this monumental urban resort. More than 200 worldwide leaders have visited the hotel. Set within the gardens are a large heated pool and terraced sundeck.
Dining choices include branches of American restaurants China Grill and Bice Bistro, as well as Mexico City's 1949 landmark Centro Castellano. Three cafés include one with a mural by renowned artist Rufino Tamayo. The outdoor, candle-lit Moonbar features waterbeds, while the lobby's Blue Lounge entices with a transparent floor that has a rock-bottomed pool beneath.
The hotel offers a staffed business center and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access (surcharges). Business guests can also take advantage of 20 meeting/conference rooms, banquet facilities, and event catering. Secure self parking and valet parking (surcharges) are available. Other amenities include laundry facilities, computer rental, and child care.
This is a smoke-free property. Fines apply for smoke-free violations.

“Excellent Hotel”
This hotel was a great place to stay. The staff and security at the hotel made sure all went well. All taxi's were scrutinized by the hotel before you entered the cab, so when visiting city I was fine. There is good food in the restaurants so there is no need to venture out after dark unless you choose to go with a group. Rooms are clean and spacious, the view from my room was OK. I have had worse. Had to pay for internet and bottled water in the room. Water was a little pricey. I would suggest this hotel to anyone travelling to Mexico City. You aren't too far from the touristy places (maybe a mile) - museums, hard rock cafe etc. It is a bit of a time in a cab as traffic is really bad. Still would suggest this hotel to others.
“Excellent choice in Mexico city”
Great location, staff was great and the China Grill restaurant was awesome!
“A Classic”
I have stayed here numerous times over the last decade and am never disappointed.
“Will Definitely Come Back when in Mexico City”
No complaints at all. Quick Check-in. Great Service, Great Location, Clean and Comfy Room. They played great music at the lounge located inside the hotel, but we did feel a bit under-dressed since most people were in slacks and dress shirts but there is no dress-code. Went to a music festival in Mexico City, quite a few bands were actually staying at the hotel. This is where we will be staying on our next trip to Mexico City.
“Great location, friendly service”
Close to the fancy shopping area of Presidente Mazaryk in Polanco. Next door to the Chapultepec Park and the Mexico City Auditorium. Great restaurants inside the hotel. (Try Le Cirque and China Grill, especially. Beautiful architecture by Legorreta. An authentic Mural by Tamayo in the Lobby cafe. Rent a hotel taxi with driver for a full day for about $20 USD, to take you places. Nice choice at reasonable rates.
“Great Place”
It's a great luxurious hotel that doesn't feel too over the top, the rooms are spacious and quiet. The only con i can think of is the room service prices, way too expensive.
“Great Hotel Overall”
This hotel has good sized rooms, great restaurants on site, good service, and a nice bar. It is also conveniently located. Great place to stay!
“Very good hotel.”
This hotel is very comfortable. I like it very much that their restaurants offer is good as they have very elegant restaurants as well as caffeterias to suits ones taste or mood. The bars are good too.
“mexico city best hotel”
Very good location, the best service from concierge and front desk, beautiful experience.
“Excellent hotel, service, location, restaurants”
Superior service from concierge to room service. Spacious, airy rooms and bathrooms. Variety of outstanding restaurants upstairs (Chinese, French or Italian cuisines on second floor, as well as an all-around cafe downstairs). Use the hotel taxis for transportation anywhere, round trips easily arranged.
