“Perfect location!!!”
Perfect location! Awesome staff! Clean room! Beautifully decorated!
“Special hotel!!”
Elegant, classy hotel. NOT stuffy. Staff is wonderful. In the middle of everything you go to South Beach for. One short block from Ocean Drive and the beach. I like that it is quiet day and night. I have stayed on Ocean Drive where it is SO loud day and night. Hard to get a good night's sleep. I can't wait to return to Essex House.
“Wonderful Hotel!”
This hotel has a fabulous location and fabulous service. We will definitely stay here again when we visit South Beach. It's very historic with a beautiful lobby and common areas! There were two small drawbacks - not much space (shelving) in the bathroom and the noise from the next room. Outside noise was not a problem.
“Love this hotel!”
This is a historic hotel beautifully restored, inside & out. It has an intimate feel to which the staff contributes by their attentiveness and friendliness. I wasn't sure I'd like this one as much as one that was actually on Ocean, but I found I liked being a block off Ocean better as it was less noisy and closer to a large variety of restaurants and the bus lines. I will stay at this hotel again!
“Cute boutique hotel”
When I first pulled up to the hotel in the taxi I desperately wanted a doorman to greet me and help w my luggage, but there was no one... So I dragged my two rollerboards up the stairs (yes, stairs) to the front door. (didn't realize it at the time, but there is a ramp on the 10th street side entrance) The lobby was very dimly lit, but quiet and cool. The "welcome beverage" was a perfect way to start my vacation, even though it was 0830am! (I didn't feel judged!) Check in was a breeze and I was escorted to my room and was told all about the amenities of the hotel (free happy hour, wireless internet, and coffee, juice and tea throughout the day) and their relationship with The Clevelander Hotel next door (to include access to their rooftop lounge and evening parties w a DJ until 0500am). I was surprised when they stated that outside alcohol was not allowed in the hotel, but there weren't any Vodka Nazis so it all worked out! I was the first to arrive in my party so I had time to relax, unpack and have a snack. The spinach dip was pretty good from the Clevelander and they will deliver it to your room! The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff is very knowledgeable about activities in the area. I was hesitant about staying so close to the action, but I wasn't bothered by the street noise.... but I could hear entire conversations from the room next door to mine! Overall this is a great boutique hotel and I would def stay there again and recommend it to my friends!
“Great location and relatively quiet”
This hotel is situated in a fantastic area only one block away from Ocean Dr and all the South Beach entertainment. The hotel is relatively quiet, stylish and rooms are comfortable. We would not hesitate to reccomend it and will be staying here during future trips to South Beach.
“Loved it here!”
We stayed at the hotel for a bachelorette party and had a wonderful experience. The staff was more than accommodating in every way possible. They gave the bachelorette a bottle of champagne in our room for her special occasion. When we called for extra towels, someone brought towels to our room immediately. The concierge Chad was great with restaurant recommendations and things to do in the evening. There is a small pool at the hotel which is good if you want a quick dip. I am a light sleeper and really liked that the hotel was quiet at night and I could have a good night sleep. But yet, the location is great, walking distance to the beach, bars and the strip of restaurants. The Clevelander (party scene hotel) is just down the block so you can go out and not bring the party back with you. The one minor downside is that the bar in the hotel is only open after 5pm. (and free wine and beer happy hour!) But its so easy to grab a drink elsewhere during the day, that it really wasn't a huge inconvenience. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel!
“My favourite hotel in South Beach so far”
Really nice hotel. Great location & the rooms are almost sounds proof. We stayed in the suite which was beautiful & spacious. We were very happy with our stay.
“Honeymoon stay at the Essex”
We stayed at the Essex Hotel for the first two nights of our Honeymoon. We had the best and most welcoming reception by the staff when we arrived. They were just super friendly and had arranged flowers, drinks and cake for us when we arrived and it just made us feel so special. The location is great and the hotel is very nice and tidy. I would come back here everytime I was in the area and highly recommend it.
“Great Hotel, Great Location, Nice place!!”
Just got back from a 4 night stay at The Essex House and all I can say is WOW! Perfect location if you want to be in the heart of South Beach, I am a 40 year old who went with friends that like to go to the Clevlender and you get to use ALL properties within Clevlender which are amazing!! Pool bars were great , food very good, and you actually get to sleep here without the Pounding music till 5 am..Rooms were great, modern cumfy beds, clean room, nice big HDTV with all the cable you can want, there was also a FREE Happy Hour all the El Presidente and wine you want from 5-7 pm, That was an Amazing Treat that got us juiced up before dinner and going out at night at South Beach!!..The only complaint I had was parking which can get pricy if you have a car and need to park, it is $15-20 per 12 hours, so can get expensive, there is street parking if you can find it but also on pricy side. But you can't beat the location 1 block from beach, Mangos,Clevelnder is next to you, can't wait to come back next time I am in South Beach!
