“Great out of city hotel”
This is a really good hotel and I would gladly recommend it. The Navigli area is fantastic with a lot of places to eat and drink along the canal. It is also just a short walk from the tube station, making it very easy to reach central Milan in under 10 minutes. The hotel staff were very friendly and always happy to help. The morning breakfast offerring is also very good. Overall we had a fantastic week here and I would certainly come back.
“Overall pleasing”
We loved it here. Were worried re earlier comments, but found staff lovely. Secure parking. Hotel was in the canal district, somewhat away from central Milan, but in comfortable walking distance, and we got to enjoy plentiful food with happy hour drinks. Some concerning graffiti in the area as you drive in, but no other evidence of unsavoury character. Rooms great for the family - everyone had a comfortable bed in 4 person room. Breakfast was great. I'd definitely stay here again.
“Extremely helpful staff in a quality hotel”
The hotel is next to the canal, and in a quiet area. Three minutes walk away is the nearby metro stop, Porta Genova, which will take you anywhere in the city. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, beds comfortable. The staff (especially the manager) could not be more helpful and courteous. The breakfast room on the 4th floor is quiet, with a good selection to choose from. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours on the street connecting to Hotel Nikken. A 15 minute taxi ride from Linate, in my experience. I recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Would love to go back.”
A very nice hotel. I generally don't like hotel soap, but the small bars of Marie Danielle soap, made in Italy, were wonderful! All hotel staff friendly and courteous. A great area (the Navigli) in which to stay. Wish we could have stayed there longer. Close to the green line (subway) which is a great way to get around. GREAT time!!!
“Will definately go back”
Excellent value for money - very good quad room with very comfortable beds. Great breakfast with real fruit. Good location within the city for getting to the sights.
“Great location and value for money”
This hotel is in the Navigli district of Milan, well away from the city centre, and the relaxed atmosphere in the bars and restaurants around it reflect this (as do the prices!). A 4-star hotel, the reception area and bar downstairs are well-apportioned, with attentive and helpful staff. The rooms have all the necessities (except tea/coffee facilities for some reason), and were well cleaned and re-stocked. Given that all the things you could really want were done well, the real bonus with this hotel is the location - literally a stone's throw from the canal on Porta di Tscinese, and only a couple of stone's throws from the nearest Metro station. Not that we wanted to go far, as the bars and restaurants alongside the canal at night were excellent, unpretentious and lively. Street traders lined the canalside in the evening, so you could find plenty of fake Gucci if that's your bag. Better still, last Sunday in every month there is a MASSIVE antiques fair along the canal banks, which lasts all day and has all sorts of interesting goodies (though the furniture is a bit bulky to take home on the plane). Again, only a minute's walk from the hotel. Having said which, none of all the nearby activity is perceptible from inside the hotel making it an ideal spot for a relaxing city-break.
“Good value Milan Hotel”
We stayed here as a family of four (kids aged 2 and 4) and were very happy with the hotel. The room was excellent - 2 bedrooms within the same hotel room. It is situated in a nice area with plenty of good restaurants and bars which is not too far away from the centre, by public transport. The best thing was that they had secure underground parking for our hire car. The staff were helpful - but typically italian so you need to ask all the questions! The only bad thing was the breakfast coffee which was the worst I've tasted.
“Good location with great restaurant choices nearby”
Milan is more of a business destination than leisure, and we were not on business. However, business or leisure, the location of this hotel is good. We were within easy walking distance of the core downtown area. There is public transit within easy reach as well. Breakfast was included with the room, and was much more diverse than some other Italian hotels we stayed at. Front desk staff were polite and very helpful. The junior suite worked well for our family of 4. Overall we were very happy with our accommodations in Milan.
“Very good location for tourist”
The location of the hotel is very good having a close access to Metro which is connected to city centre and tourist sites. There are abundant choices of restaurant near the hotel. The hotel is very clean by serving a good quality breakfast. It is highly recommendable.
“great location”
The Art Hotel at Navigli is in a wonderful location, in the middle of an arty / lively neighbourhood with a Metro station close by to get to the other parts of Milan. We had a twin room, which was fine - not overly big, but clean and with enough storage space etc. The room had a couple of english speaking news channels so you could keep up to date with what was going on in the world. We didn't use the WiFi. The reception staff were okay - not very knowledgeable when we enquired about the best way to get from Milan to Bellagion at Lake Como, but friendly enough. The bar attendant was very good - very friendly and generous with the aperitifs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Navigli, Milan, Italy: Like Pariss Left Bank, this area is awash with artisans, painters and tourists. Once navigable canals flowing across the city, the Navigli have been reopened to pleasure boats, and cafés and restaurants now line the banks. Leonardo da Vinci helped to design the canals and to the west is the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie showcasing his famous masterpiece The Last Supper.
