“Excellent Hotel”
I stayed here in Sept/Oct 2007 with my girlfriend and really enjoyed it. We arrived in Milan into the central station from Bergamo and saw the hotel pretty much straight away. We went over and the room was ready a few hours early so we could put our bags away in the room and head out. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and we were served/sorted out very quickly. Room was very nice, individual Sky Italia boxes in the room so we could watch Sky News when in the room. Bathroom had dual sinks and the bath had a spa facility. We ate the breakfast both days in the hotel and kept going back for more, we probably had 5 courses of various hot and cold food with plenty of coffee/tea/cappucinos. Orange juice maker and other cold drinks were also present. We didn't use the hotel restaurant but had a quick look in after breakfast one day - they are seperate rooms. It looked very nice. Minibar is free, but no alcoholic drinks in, a few cans of coke, water and choccie bars. On leaving we had an evening flight so we checked out and the hotel looked after our bags during the day whilst we went out into Milan again for more exploring. Very good hotel, no problems at all.
“Pleasantly surprised”
Entrance to hotel is shabby at best and I was not prepared to like my stay here. Proximity to railroad station (right across the street) was reason for the choice. Room was very comfortable and clean with a totally updated bathroom. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Downside - no internet access in rooms, very poor wifi available in bar area only.
“Perfect for Milan”
Great location near the train station make this hotel a good place to start your tour of Italy! The staff is professional and helpful. Since we fly from the States to Italy via Milan, the Michelangelo is a good way to ease into travel. The hotel is very "American" in its amenities. It offers a relaxing way to start a trip (before all the quaint, European hotels dominate) and is a great price for the value.
“An oasis of comfort across from the rail station.”
This outstanding hotel is not only comfortable with spotless quality furnishings, but a hop-skip-and-jump from the rail station, you can easily roll your suitcase around the corner to it.
“Best breakfast in Italy”
this is a great hotel, close to train station. Hotel offers snacks and drinks from minibar that is complimentary. There are also some great restaurants nearby
“Great Location, Great Food, Great Hotel!”
I have just returned from staying in the Michelangelo Hotel and have to say I was extremely impressed. The rooms are among the largest I've ever stayed in and are kept spotlessly clean and the whirlpool bath was great to come back to after being out exploring Milan all day. The free minibar was a real added extra as well and was refilled every day, so make the most of it! The buffet breakfast was amazing, there was so much choice of fruit, pastries, cooked food, cereals....I'm not much of an eater at breakfast but I ended up going back for seconds and even thirds sometimes! The hotel's location was ideal as well - it was just across the road from the Central Station and so very convenient for the metro as well as being a drop off point for the transfer coach from the airport. Overall this was a great hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it.
“Pleasantly Surprised”
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Michelangelo. The location across from the station was outstanding, as was the Malpensa Express bus to the airport. The hotel is very modern and comfortable. Yes, the mattresses are firm and the bathrooms spotless. The buffet breakfast was uncommonly generous, varied and delicious. You won't need lunch after that. Free access to the minibar was great as we were quite hot and really enjoyed the mineral water. The air conditioning was great and kept us cool during our hot and muggy stay. Unless you want a ritzy, over-the-top hotel, the Michelangelo should please you.
“Lovely place to stay”
A bit out of the city centre but right beside the Central Station, this is an excellent place to base yourself while exploring Milan. Very clean rooms, polite if somewhat muted service at the front desk, and unusually large rooms for a European hotel. Would certainly go back there. Try the new restaurant across the road for a nice meal. The only problem was the bed, which was rock hard!
“Nice rooms, convenient location, free minibar!”
I chose the Michelangelo for its location - directly across from the Centrale train station, which is also where the airport shuttle bus arrives and departs. Very handy when you have an early flight out of Malpensa. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, spacious (by European standards), very comfortable, and very quiet, which is important when you need to nap off some jet lag. The minibar is complimentary - no free booze, of course, but snacks and soft beverages are freebies. The included breakfast is available as early as 6 am, and is excellent. The folks at the front desk are very helpful. It's a long but pleasant walk to the center of the city (about 2 miles), but taxis and public transportation are convenient if you don't want to hoof it (the subway is just yards away).
“Great place to stay”
This hotel has a very good location near the train station & also for travelling to the city via metro. Its an impressive building & rooms are of a high standard. One of the best features is the jacuzzi bath: these jets were very welcome after a day of sightseeing around the city. Didnt use the restaurant, but breakfast also very good.
