“Nice place to rest your head at night.”
the staff was helpful with directions & selling tickets to the aquarium. The room had 2 queen beds & a twin. We were only expecting 2 queens. My two young children loved having their own beds. They have internet access in the lobby for a reasonable fee.
“Excellent Bargain”
The room was very nice, clean, and everything was in working order. The hotel staff was nice and helpful. The surrounding area is clean. Fisherman's Warf and Cannery Row are very close (no more than a 10 minute drive). I highly recommend staying here if you want a cheap room that's still decent.
“Good Deal”
Newly remodeled, very large rooms, with small kitchen. Very clean. Reception could be more friendly. Internet was slow. Breakfast area is very small, just two tables. But overall experience very good. We definetly would go back again.
“Most all the other reviews are accurate”
The hotel was exactly as expected. Nothing outstanding, nothing horrible. This was a perfect hotel for my wife and I as it was clean and not too hard to find off the 1. As other reviewers have noted, the 'indoor pool' is really just an outdoor pool with a cover over it. Protected from wind and rain, but probably just as cold outside of the water. Also, like almost every hotel/motel, the sound insulation isn't all that great, but I know of very few hotels that are. I would definitely recommend to anyone who just wants a nice place to stay with nothing fancy. Also, my wife and I strongly recommend the sushi place down the street - Oh! Sushi. Morning breakfast was also nothing fancy - make your own waffles.
“Pleasant Stay”
The wife and I spent only the one night as we were only passing through. However the price of the room was great and extremely clean. The location was easy to find and the check-in/out was painless and quick. Would stay there again when we only need one night on another bike trip through the area.

Rooms were clean, fresh and in very nice condition. I have stayed in better motels in this are for more money and worse for a lot more money. I give it 5 stars for the cost which was reasonalble for that area.
“NICE MOTEL”
IT WAS CLEAN AND QUIIET.HAD A NICE POOL PLUS LOOKED CLEAN. EASY ON AND OFF FREEWAY.BIG PLUS.
“Very good place to stay”
For a basic place to stay, this was very good. The rooms were clean and well maintained, it was in a good area and right off the highway. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast wasn't "all that" but it was free and saved a few dollars one of the mornings. A word of warning, the pool isn't heated. But other than those two things, it was a good hotel at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back in the future.
“Great Place to Stay after partying at Planet Gemini!!!! Instead of driving home...”
This was a hotel in the perfect location if you want to go to Planet Gemini and party. And after partying, you don't have to drive home and stay at Casteel Hotel. Right Next door.
“Great Hotel, good location to the area”
The hotel was clean and within a 5 minute drive to the main pier and restaurants. Service was good and friendly.
