“Place D'Armes - great hotel”
Very nice hotel. Everything we expected.
“A superb choice”
I had a fabulous corner room. It was spacious, with a huge desk, high ceiling, great bed, and real closet. It's a wonderful old building that's been carefully restored with just the right modern updates. Minibar, safe, music system... every key amenity. I received two drink vouchers for the downstairs bar, a nice touch. The hotel also has a great restaurant and spectacular rooftop bar. It's close to old city, the port, and a Metro stop; in other words, the location is ideal for nearly any type of trip. Montreal's wonderful bike rental system is a huge help in getting around, too. The plumbing left something to be desired, with the bathroom's 99-cent shower-head and loose sink faucet, but at least they worked and this is a small complaint. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Excellent Choice in Old Montreal”
The Place d'Armes has expanded from one building to now three. Rooms are large in the two newest buildings and well decorated. Also very clean and quiet. Location is ideal for someone who wants to discover the charms of the Old Montreal area by foot. Parking is a bit tricky and taxi drivers usually drop one off on a side street which is not the main lobby entrance. If you are carrying several suitcases, you want to make sure you are dropped off on St. Jacques street proper. Everything was as expected!!!
“Beautiful hotel, great view”
The room was great. Very comfortable and clean with lots of extra touches that made it seem a bit more luxurious. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
“Great location and service”
We enjoyed our three days in this hotel. With a south facing room we could open the window and let the lovely April sunshine stream in. It was roomy enough that we could entertain 5 with wine from the SAQ (liquor store) around the corner. Staff were most helpful.
“A complete delight! Fabulous Food!”
A complete delight! Fabulous Food!
“great european feel”
Had a lovely 4 night stay with my daughter. Easy walking distance to downtown and all of old town. Great ammenities and service. Very helpful and friendly front desk staff. Make sure to plan a weeknight visit to steam in the Hamman at the spa.

“It was like being a princess...”
Awsome rooms, great service, friendly staff that make you feel you were a movie star!!!
“Great Hotel in a Great Location”
We went to Montreal for a weekend in April and stayed at the Place D'Armes. We would definitely stay there again. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet, although a bit dim with the mood lighting. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was so fabulous, we didn't mind paying the large bill for it. The continental breakfast included hard-boiled eggs, which was a nice touch. The hotel is across the street from the Basilica Notre Dame, which you have to see. Try to go when the organ is playing or the chior is practicing.
