“Much Better Than Expected”

I had stayed in this motel years ago and it was not pleasant. However, they have remodeled and it is now much better, clean, and well taken care of in terms of conditon and upkeep.

I enjoyed my stay there. The room was clean and up to date. Nothing was broken and I felt very comfortable there. The staff was pleasant and I felt good knowing I was supporting a family owned and run motel. It was a good value and a good jumping off point for snowboarding at Telluride. I have recommended this motel to friends already and I will stay there again the next time I need a room in the area.

“Best hotel on our trip...”

...with the best rates, too. And they are pet friendly! Many hotels seem to purposely put you in the worst room available if you mention that you're bringing a dog. Not Black Canyon. Our room appeared new and clean, and had all necessary amenities. We checked out early the next morning before breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but I'd definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

“Great motel for the money”

This is a nice "no frills" motel. Clean, quite and comfortable. If you're just looking for an inexpensive, comfortable place to sleep this is the place.

“Amazing Value!”

I wasn't expecting much for such a low price. I was bowled over with the size and quality of the room! Very impressed. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

“Nice place, sweet little town in Colorado”

We had never traveled to Frisco, Co before but found the motel ideally located in a sweet town. I was initially concerned when I learned there was no air conditioning for our August stay, but it turned out to be just fine. Breakfast was complementary continental, but better than usual.

“Will likely stay here again”

Reservation was for queen bed, but got king bed for same rate. Room had refrigerator and microwave. Room had obviously been remodeled in the recent past, so was quite clean. Good location, kept A/C unit fan running all night, but all three nights were very quiet. Continental breakfast was pretty much standard fare for today and did include a waffle making machine. Food area was a little small, but OK if you were not in a big hurry. We have been staying in this town for many years at different places, and for the money, we will likely stay at this one again.

“Best Deal in Montrose, CO”

I took my son for a visit to the Black Canyon National Park and we stayed at the Black Canyon Motel. We were very pleasantly surprised. It was very reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. I'd recommend this motel to anyone and we will certainly stay again if we visit Montrose in the future.

“I'll stay there every time”

A beautiful, quiet room. Looked like new wallpaper in the bathroom and new carpet. Beds were comfortable although the pillows could be a bit thicker. Fresh waffles and good coffee. For the low rates and great facilities, I'll stay there every time.

“Great Value/ Nice Motel”

I wish I would of had time to use the outdoor pool...it looked really nice!
