“Good”
The hotel was very nice. It is not within walking distance of the city centre, but the tram stops right in front. The best thing was the breakfast: they had lots of eggs, fruits, juices, cold meats... Fantastic!! My friend and I had a twin room that was very bright and clean; it was en-suite. It was a bit noisy since the hotel is on the corner of two relatively big streets, but it got dead silent in the evening. There is a bar but I wouldn't really recommend it. Overall, I really liked it and found it of excellent quality for the price paid.
“Decent, but more than a 10 minute walk”
Clean; big bathroom, but no curtain for the shower. from the train station its about a 20-25 minute walk; but still a great deal for Munich
“Hostel review”
The hostel was not too far from the main station, but they do not have any information on the bus to take to get their quickly. We took a taxi, it was late. The bus line has a stop only fifty meters from the entrance. Breakfast is great, wonderful fresh croissants!
“Great location and price”
This hotel is fantastic. The staff are extremely friendly and speak good English. The location is excellent, walking distance to downtown Munich and right next to a major subway station. Breakfast is included and is very good continental style. I have stayed here 4 times now and recommend it wholeheartedly. The only thing to watch is taht is does get a bit noisy. The clientelle are usually quite young and can be boisterous until around 11 PM. The road is also a bit noisy. However if you like the hustle and bustle of city life you can't beat this place. I love it!
“Definitely Recommended”
Was very clean and all the employees were very nice. The wireless internet only works on the first floor but they didn't tell us that when we bought an hour of wireless internet (1 Euro). You can also use the computers in the lobby for a little more money. which was convenient. The phones and internet were not working in the hotel for a few days which was inconvenient. There was a tram stop right across the street from the hotel and by taking the tram and subway it was only about 15 minutes away from the city center. We also walked a few times but we were there in the winter so it got cold (took about 30-40 minutes to walk). If it was summer the walk would have been a lot better. Everything else was good and overall definitely a good place to stay at a cheap price.
“GOOD VALUE”
GOOD VALUE, CLEAN HOTEL/HOSTEL. VERY HELPFUL STAFF. GOOD LOCATION. WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING BACK.
“Loved It”
We stayed here last year for Oktoberfest and it was ideal. A short stumble home from the grounds, the rooms were extremely clean and good sized (we stayed in a quad room) and we had a tv and a massive bathroom. The breakfasts were really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
“A Backpackers Hideaway”
This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. Although not a 5 star hotel it provided a safe stay with comfortable beds. We arrived and were greeted by kind staff that helped us in English and given a private room. Something notable to say is that this hotel really isn't really made for the family, it's target audience is as a cheap place for students and youth to crash during the night while spending most of the time exploring the city during the day. During the day, it's quite normal to hear the chatter of groups hanging out and relaxing on the balcony from your room. With many international traveler's this is great to meet new people but for those expecting a quiet getaway to stay in their hotel rooms all day, this may be a problem. Night however was quiet. The double room we slept in was clean and minimalistic. Room service made our beds and tidied up. Bathroom was big enough for our needs. Nice little nook for doing a bit of work of hanging out on the laptop. As for internet access, there is no access in the rooms. For internet you need to go to hang out in the lobby and I believe there is a small fee. The hotel/hostel is fairly close to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) in that it's a 30 minute pleasurable walk. One can opt for the S-Bahn which takes about 5 minutes from the main station and comes quite frequently every 10-20 minutes.
“Good value for location”
This hostel has had a few poor reviews, but my experience was fine. The location is good; four stops on the tram from Hauptbahnoff, which is also a nice walk if you've got about 15 to 20 mins to spare. I had a single room - although it had two beds. It was spacious and there was plenty of room. It could do with a lick of paint and some better fitting curtains, but overall it was ok. The separate bathroom was ok too, although the hot water system seems to suffer in the mornings and during other peak times, which can cause the temperature to vary a lot while you're showering. During 'quiet' times (around 8pm) this didn't seem to be a problem. Overall the hostel staff were friendly and welcoming, the entrance lobby - which doubles as a communal area - is clean and well lit. The rooms are adequate for the price and I would use it again.
“This is a nice Hostel, but go prepared.”
Firstly, the reservation screen won't let you request 4 beds; for some reason the screen defaulted to 2 singles, but we were able to work with the staff at the desk and get the beds we needed. A 4 person room is two singles and a set of bunk beds. The hostel was very clean and the staff was friendly. Beware of room 7, the rouladen don't work, but we slept soundly despite the partying young adults around us. Make sure you take a copy of the reservation so you don't get charged extra for sheets and breakfast. Breakfast was a very nice typical German breakfast with a varied selection on the buffet. One of the nicer hostels I've stayed in.
