“Excellent service”
This is an excellent hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable, with cable TV. The bathroom was spotlessly clean; the shower powerful. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from the central train station and suburban/underground railway, tram and bus, but none of these are audible from inside the hotel. In the other direction, it is about 5 minutes walk to Karlsplatz and ammenities such as restaurants, shops, cinema, bars etc. are within a very short distance.
“Great Hotel”
The hotel is minutes away from the train station which is very helpful when worrying about catching a train. The actual hotel is located on the 2nd floor of a building, and the rooms are very nice. Optional breakfast is available in the morning if you want to pay for it. If you dont there is still a basket of pastries for you to have. As a whole, the hotel was great and you cant go wrong for the price.
“very enjoyable christmas shopping break, munich has a lot to offer tourists of all descriptions”
The hotel monoco is very well situated close to all transport links ,railway station ,underground and trams only a few minutes walk .very helpful staff all willing to make your stay as pleasent as they possibly can. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the rooms are pleasantly decorated .The breakfast was very good Buffet style offering a very varied selection breakfast menu.my wife and myself both agreed that if we returned to munich we would stay at the hotel monoco again.
“Pretty nice and affordable”
Tipical german hotel, clean, nice 20" LCD TV in your room. Location is central. Easy to get anywhere. Good breakfast. And affordable. What else your need?
“Loved the service and breakfasts”
This is a great deal for the budget minded traveller. The location is very convenient being adjacent to the central trainstation and easy walking distance to major attractions. The hotel keepers were helpful, warm, and most spoke more than enough english to assist my needs or answer my questions. The amenities are basic but just enough for my needs and everything was tidy and clean. I most enjoyed the included breakfast with a generous spread of meats, cheeses, jams, breads, cereals, etc.
“Lovely comfortable Munich Hotel”
Excellent city centre hotel located close to the main station. Within easy walking distance of the main attractions. Very welcoming staff and very friendly at all hours of the day and night. Very comfortable, clean and light room for myself and my son. I'm proposing a winter visit to Munich and will certainly use the Hotel Monaco.
“Nice little place, great breakfast, only steps from the Hauptbahnhof”
I needed a place to stay that was not prohibitively expensive, yet centrally located. After reviewing other hotels near the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) whose customers complained about noise, I chose one a few steps away, and off the main drag. The layout is a bit odd: the hotel occupies the top two floors of a seven-story residential apartment complex: you come in on the ground floor, take the elevator to the fifth floor, check in with the cheerful lady behind the desk, and--if your room is, like mine was, in the 600s--walk up one flight to your room. My room was on the backside of the building, so it was quiet and pleasant. Leaving the windows open gave plenty of fresh air. The room was spacious and clean--I was in a double with two beds--with a very nicely laid out full bath (though I did not try out the shower). The breakfast (included) was typically and heartily German: plenty of fresh breadstuffs, cold cuts, cheeses and the like, or--if your tastes ran that way--more conventional "American" fare: crunchy cereal flakes and the like. The coffee was excellent--one of my criteria of a good breakfast--and it came in a full-size pot that was given to you at the table. Although breakfast "officially" started at 7:00am, I had to leave early, and so though I might miss out: the night manager, a cheerful gent with a pipe, wouldn't hear of my going without a proper breakfast, and so I was able to partake starting at 6:45am. Highly recommended. I'll be back! :-)
“Friendly place to stay”
The hotel is in an area very near the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) so is convenient for travel. Not in the best area of town but the hotel itself was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home. They were helpful with all of our questions and the breakfast was great. The room was small but clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend it to travelers on a budget.
“Good Value”
The surrounding area is a bit unpleasant, but the hotel itself is comfortable.
“A good two star hotel.”
The staff are great. The rooms are nice but not overly done. Don't go there during the summer as there is no air condiditoning and the room did get hot.
