Property Amenities
Ocean Reef Resort is within two miles of Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Broadway At The Beach is five miles away, and Hard Rock Amusement Park is within eight miles of the resort.
In summer, children enjoy complimentary, supervised indoor and outdoor activities, with surcharges added for certain arts and crafts and a weekly pizza night. The Ocean Reef Resort's fitness center offers cardio machines and a Universal gym. Adjacent are women's and men's locker rooms with showers and saunas. Four conference rooms provide 3700 square feet of meeting space.
Ample parking is facilitated by four parking lots/garages surrounding the hotel, all are complimentary.
Rooms
The Ocean Reef Resort offers 345 guestrooms and condominium units. Rooms are located in an older 16-story building and condominiums in a connected 14-story buildings opened in 2002 and 2005. Both rooms and condominiums feature ocean-view balconies. Rooms include microwave ovens and compact refrigerators. Rollaway beds available (surcharge). Condominiums include full kitchens with dishwashers and also contain washer/dryers. Decor in both rooms and condominiums provides an informal ambience of light-colored wood furniture and tropically colored fabrics. Wireless Internet access is available for guest convenience.

Recreation
An irregularly shaped, 115-foot-long pool, small children's pool, and 12-person spa tub provide outdoor fun in summer. An indoor complex with a glass front that's removed in summer offers year-round water attractions comprising a 250-foot lazy river; a free-form pool measuring roughly 40-by-30 feet; a 50-foot-long children's water playground with a mushroom shower, "bucket drops," and rain showers; two four-person spa tubs; and an eight-person spa tub.
The beach lies just over wooden stairs that protect beach grasses. Umbrellas and beach chairs are available for rent. Between this South Carolina resort and the beach a lawn offers lounge chairs for sunbathing.
A water sports center 5.5 miles away offers a wide variety of rental equipment, including personal watercraft and windsurfers, and books parasailing flights and banana boat rides.
Guests enjoy playing privileges at the private Dunes Golf and Beach Club, which features an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. that has played host to PGA Senior Tour tournaments and the Women's U.S. Open. The Dunes is just one of the Myrtle Beach area's 120 golf courses, tee times at which the resort's golf center will arrange.

“WOW!!!”
I chose this hotel on a spur of the moment trip with my sister and 2 nephews. I'm super picky about where I stay and usually book high-end hotels but I will certainly be back here again!! When we first checked into the hotel, our 2nd flr oceanfront room was totally blocked by the palm trees. The front desk clerk changed us from the 2nd floor to the 15th floor with no extra charge. The hotel is very quiet and the staff is extremely friendly. The pools are great, I don't know if they were heated but the water was very warm for October! The rooms were very clean and I couldn't hear the people next door to us. Parking is NOT a block away as stated previously but they do have an overflow parking deck that sits diagonally from the hotel entrance. Parking near the entrance at check-out can be a bit tough but since it's on the north end of MB, walking across streets is very safe. My nephews had the time of their lives so this hotel is a winner in my book! I'm already planning on returning with my husband!!
“Comfortable Bed”
The bed was amazingly comfortable. After sleeping two nights there I told my wife, "My back hasn't felt this good in weeks."

The hotel room we stayed in had many more anemities than what was described. The additional anemities made this hotel a home away from home. Definitely worth the money.
“Looking forward to my next trip”
The "ocean" view was very peaceful at night and more beautiful in the morning. If only I could live the life of waking up to the oceanfront. It is the most comforting and breathtaking experience. The hotel is decorated very tastefully as well with soo much to look at. The next time I visit, I will be sure to take advantage of the lazy river. This was definitely a great choice that I have found.

This was the first trip that we took that everyone was satisfied!!! Hotel was more like a small apartment wow!!!
“Wow!”
I guess not everyone is going to share our experience. When we arrived, after having booked a 1 bedroom King jacuzzi suite through Expedia at a great rate (post summer season), we were excited when we were assigned a room on the top floor facing the beach. Very unexpected. The room was immaculate and the view was naturally fantastic. We were only there for one night on a road trip down the coast. We wished we had stayed longer. We didn't have the opportunity to fully utilise the hotel's many features. Parking was free and the staff were all very helpful. The location is difficult to judge. The entire length of beach is lined with hotel after hotel and the extended Myrtle Beach city is spread along the coast and well inland. So no matter which hotel you choose, you are always going to be both close and far away from things. A car is recommended, though there are buses. Myrtle Beach had more to offer than we expected, so allow more time than we did. And if you're looking for a great place to stay, then book the Ocean Reef Resort. You won't be disappointed.
“Great Stay!”
We stay in Myrtle Beach at least 4 times a year and this was our first time at the Ocean Reef. I usually have some type of complaint, but this time everything was excellent! I was very pleased by the entire staff; they were very friendly and everything was very clean. We will definitely be back!

Stayed the weekend at the Ocean Reef hotel. I was very impressed with the hotel. Great oceanfront rooms throughout the hotel. Great amentities and the pool was very comfortable. Will visit this hotel again very soon!
“clean, nice stay-great view”
the ocean view rooms were awesome. The staff was great! I have no complaints. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is okay with a hotel that is not upscale but is clean and comfortable. I plan on making this my default location in myrtle beach.
