“Nice place to stay in Nagano”

The hotel location is good: short walking distance from the JR station, and also within walking distance from Zenkoji. There are plenty of eateries and shops around, including a Starbucks. The room iwas small for American standards, but somewhat bigger and a bit more comfortable than the other hotels in Japan I stayed at. It is a pretty good choice for Nagana, especially if one can get a room at a reasonable price.

This hotel is in a great location in Nagano. Walking distance even with all our snowboarding gear. I would recommend a stay here en-route to the mountains. Comfortable, enough room and close to a lot of restaurants, and the train station.

“Impressed with Hotel”

I only stayed here for a few nights at the end of my holiday in Japan. Given how far I had lugged my back pack around I was so pleased that I could walk straight out of the train station and be at the hotel within 5 minutes. I can't fault the cleanliness of the rooms and the staff were friendly. English is not their strong point so it's definitely worth learning the basics (but that should be standard polite traveller etiquette regardless). I was here at the tail end of summer so don't know how it fairs for those here for the skiing, but it was a good hiking base for me as I went around the Kiso Valley and that kind of thing. when I make it back to Nagano I'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

“Pleasant hotel overall - simple but does just fine”

Hotel was close to the Nagano train station - only about a 7 minute walk, which is very handy. A bit of a struggle to converse in English with the front desk staff but we managed o.k. The room itself was very small, smaller than any other Japanese hotel rooms we'd stayed in, which made it hard with two suitcases. The buffet breakfast was pretty good for the relatively cheap cost and the room has lovely views of the surrounding mountains which was very pleasant. There are two bars attached to the hotel which are quite pleasant - however the menues are in Japanese and the bar staff barely speak a word of English so this was a bit tricky! There is free internet access in the foyer but it seems you cannot access things like Hotmail, Facebook etc in English; so if you want access to these you need to rent a laptop - if you're strapped for cash but need to access these sites there's an awesome cafe and bar called the Asian Night Market just up the road that has free high-speed internet access.
