“NY Very good budget hotel”
For me was the perfect hotel (didn't want to expend all my money in a hotel room). It was clean, recently renovated, nice location (subway half a block away and felt very safe arriving very late at night), and free WIFI. Very small rooms (but with private bath rooms) and no much amenities.
“Great place for short stay in Big Apple”
This hotel was very central to the Theatre district $7 cab ride away and we took the Metro from the Greyhound station and was able to walk to the museums. Room was small so if you are BIG in height or weight , not for you. There was a good deli open 24/7 a block away.
“Quiet Hotel, close to metro,”
newly renovated, hotel, located 1/2 block from the metro. Three blocks from Central Park. Very nice neighborhood. We plan to stay their again.
“Cheap hotel in nice area”
The smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, but I hear that is normal for NY. The walls were thin so I slept with earplugs. I was surprised by how nice the hotel was, for the price I thought I was going to get something much more run done. I felt very safe in the neighborhood wandering to and from the hotel as I was staying there by myself that was important. Close to a metro station. The staff was helpful and kind with every interaction. My only complaint would be the noise, but other than that, for the price it was a great find!
“Renovated hotel”
The hotel was renovated lately. In contrast to what Expedia says it has an elevateor. Rooms are tiny but very clean, and stuff is very friendly. Location is great - close to subway and central park, many shops and restaurants near by. Safe area, even at nights. Will definitely stay there again!
“Very good location but small room”
I cannot rate the hotel service because I didn't use any and it's a very little hotel that doesn't provide room service. On the outside, it looks like NYC apartments rather than hotel. The decor is nice, quite European, solid wood and everything, but room is VERY SMALL, besides the bed, you only have space to put 2 suitcases, then you will hit the bathroom. There are vending machines for soda and ice etc. on floor. Locationwise is 5 star, at upper west side, 1 block from Subway the Red line (#1), 2 blocks from Subway, the blue line (C, E)and along the bus lanes. Yet, it's VERY quiet and nice neighborhood, retaurants, outlet stores, a famouse NYC grocery store located 2 blocks away, drugstore and couple banks just cross the street. Staffs are nice and friendly but there are only 2 in the entire hotel at the same shift. A nice, little hotel that gives you the basic plus comfortable bed and excellent location and at a very affordable price.
“Clean, great location”
We went to NY for a week for US Open and sightseeing. Rooms were very clean but small. We only slept there. Close to subway (2 blocks) and good delis. We would definitely stay there again. Last time we stayed in Times Square but chose Upper Westside and were happy we changed.
“Excellent location, great value, and QUIET!”
Excellent value and location. Just a short walk from Central Park, the Subway, the M86 bus across town to the Metropolitan Museum and 5th Avenue, or anywhere else you might want to go. So convenient, yet on a safe and quiet street, away from the hustle and traffic. I think this is the first time I've staying in NYC and not been woken up at some point by traffic, sirens, car alarms, etc. The room was small, as I expected from all the other reviews. But it was recently renovated and immaculate. The bath was amazingly compact but functional -- plus it was one of the cleanest and sparkliest hotel baths I've encountered in a long time. The front desk staff did not ooze hospitality and charm, but they were polite and got the job done. If you need lots of space, a concierge desk, 10 movie channels, or other big hotel amenities, you will not be happy here. However, if you are somewhat familiar with NYC, use public transit, and simply want a clean, comfortable, and quiet place to clean-up and rest so you can easily enjoy all the City has to offer, I can't imagine what would be better. I'll definitely be staying at the Belnord again.
“Unexpectedly Great”
I knew in advance that I would have a small room at the Belnord, so that didn't come as a surprise. Front desk/maid service were both EXCEPTIONAL and amazingly kind! Room was very clean, very comfortable, and a nice shower. Location can't be beat, neither can the price - STAY AT THE BELNORD!
“Perfect place for a couple to stay and save in NYC”
This place was terrific for the price we got through Expedia. While it was a very small room, we had our own bathroom (very important!) and had no need for additional space. The closet was the perfect size to hang what little we needed to hang and the hotel itself was very well kept. Our room was cleaned frequently and the front desk responded to our request for more pillows and blankets quickly. If you want to save your money to spend on all the fun things NYC has to offer, book your room at the Belnord Hotel through Expedia.
