Located on 52nd street, the Flatotel is less than two blocks from Fifth Avenue and within four blocks of dozens of theaters.
Flatotel's business center includes two computers with high-speed Internet access (surcharge) and printing. An attendant is on duty early morning to late night. The computers are accessible around the clock. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby and the meeting room.
An athletic club across the street offers discounts for guests. The daily charge includes use of an indoor pool and exercise classes.
Rooms
This New York high-rise hotel offers 272 guestrooms and suites, all with oversized windows. Spacious accommodations include one, two, and three bedroom suites with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline.
Suites offer up to 1,200 square feet of space, full kitchens, and sofa beds in the living area. Suites include 2 TVs.
Deluxe guestrooms offer up to 350 square feet, dark-wood furniture, king or queen platform beds, Egyptian-cotton linens, and headboards with dual reading lights. Desks have ergonomic chairs and high-speed Internet connections (surcharge).
All rooms and suites include shower/tub combinations, oversized showerheads, sinks, and refrigerators. Most TVs have built-in VCRs. For others, complimentary VCR/DVD players are available on request. Micro-fiber bathrobes are also available on request.

Moda Restaurant & Lounge - Seasonal Italian/Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Italian for style, Moda features tall booths, black chairs, and white linens. Breakfast is served daily. Lunch choices such as Lobster Salad Brioche, risotto, and pasta are offered. Dinner selections include Crisp Pork Loin, Lamb Stuffed with Figs and Pine Nuts, and Duck Breast with Apples and Ravioli. Bar service midday to late night. Complimentary morning coffee at the bar.
Loggia - Outdoor patio beneath a glass canopy ceiling overlooking West 52nd Street. Open May through October for cocktails.
Room service is available during limited hours.
Recreation
Flatotel's complimentary fitness center contains cardio machines, resistance equipment, and free weights. The center's two-story windows provide panoramic Midtown views.

Central Park, seven blocks north, encompasses 843 acres of meadows, woods, cliffs, ravines, gardens, paths, and lakes in an emerald setting. Popular walking and running routes include Central Park Drive (closed to traffic during scheduled hours) and the path around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. The Loeb Boathouse, on a 20-acre lake, offers rowboat and bicycle rentals.

“Great Location, Bed, Room”
The bed is by far the most comfortable I've ever slept in at any hotel. The room was huge, as noted by others. The location was excellent for Broadway, Times Square or Central Park. Great place to stay

“Large Rooms and Super Front Desk!”
Wow! I can only say GREAT things about this hotel. I was shopping in the area on a cold, wet, rainy day waiting for my husband to get off work. I was greeted immediately by the front desk and was just checking to inquire about the check-in time and was told that I could check in EARLY if a room was available. AND IT WAS!!! And I mean incredibly early....like hours. I got to check in and go relax in my room which was the biggest room I've ever stayed in in Manhattan. I was also impressed with the size of the bathroom which was large also. The hot/cot water in the shower was tricky to operate (with a button that had to be pushed on to get it hot) which I had to call the desk and ask about. The desk offered to send someone up immediately to show me how to operate it, but I figured it out on my own. At times, the bathroom sink had both faucets running warm water for some reason. The bed was ok, not great but I'm used to a pillow top bed at home. My husband and I got up too late to eat any of the continental breakfast. Hotel was also very conveniently located near to lots of good restaurants and shopping within a couple of blocks. I stayed two nights here but wish I could have stayed more. I will book this hotel again in the future on my next trip. Overall, this hotel was a pleasant surprise for my husband and I on a weekend trip into the city.

The Flatotel is in a wonderful location for just about everything - near theaters, museums, restaurants, park.
“Surprised”
After reading some of the reviews was a bit worried, but after my visit was nicely surprised. Taking my 7 and 9 year old needed a good location, could'nt of asked for better, yes the lobby is dark but that is the design. found staff very helpful. Was very lucky to be upgraded to a new room the space is fantastic, kitchen, living room, large bath and bedroom and a seperate second washroom. yes the hotel does need upgrading in area's and a can see they have rushed bits, and may be my review would be different if i had had an unmodified room . but to sum up fantastic location, fantastic living space, very friendly helpful staff great value for money.
“Great location and great room”
I was very impressed with the size of the room and how clean it was. The location was close to everything and the cost was affordable. The staff members were very nice. I have suggested this hotel to others and would go back. I also have only great things to say about the simplicity of using Expedia.com. Will book future trips through this service.
“Wonderful Hotel”
Located in the center of Midtown, easily accessible to everything. Wonderful staff, clean and roomy rooms. Bed could have been a little softer and they could use a little more light in the rooms, but I'd stay there again if I ever go back to NYC.
