“Loved it!”

The other reviews were spot on: the hotel is very clean. I would not recommend this hotel for families unless you get a private bath because it would probably be hard with children. As just a couple, we had no problems with it. The bathroom was only in use when I needed it one time, although we didn't spend much time at the hotel. I think it's the perfect choice for a couple who just needs a clean bed and a roof (although they do also have free wifi and a TV, which is a plus we didn't expect.)

the room was small but it was enough for the actual amount of time u spend in the room when in NY. the bed was confortable and everything very clean. we took the room with private bathroom and it was great! the staff was nice and helpfull.

Great budget hotel - certainly one of nicest I've stayed at. Particularly liked the location, view of Empire State Building, the wi-fi, the elevator and even a hair dryer. Very clean as well.

The hotel staff were very helpful in directing us and arranging transportation for us. The location of the hotel waS convenient to shopping.

“A great home base in midtown Manhattan”

We enjoyed staying at Hotel 31 over the Thanksgiving weekend. The place is old, but very clean. The staff is very friendly. The Murray Hill (midtown Manhattan) location is fabulous - everything is very close. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe at night. The price was very good - we opted for a basic room with bed and sink, with shared bathroom down the hall. Although it's mildly inconvenient to have to get dressed to go to the bathroom during the night, at the price we didn't really mind. Note that the elevator is antique and very small (3 persons is tight). It would probably be difficult for someone in a wheelchair.

“Perfect Quaint Hotel”

The Hotel 31 is adorable! Small, old, but clean. There are no amenities, but if you're looking for a place to sleep that's safe and clean, this is the place!

Friendly hotel in a nice neighbourhood and well located for just about everything. Good selection of restaurants and transport within 200 yards. Shopping just 3 blocks. Would definately stay here again.

I am not familiar with NYC and had to pick my hotel based on what I could find on the internet. This hotel was in a good neighborhood, excellent restaurants and subway stations nearby. Easy walk to 5th Avenue. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Excellent value for the money.
