“Will Return!!”
We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Metro. Have stayed in the area before and never felt more welcome or comfratable. Room was clean, and although it was quite small we had more than enough room for a cozy weekend in the city. Refridgerater in room a plus. Breakfast buffet wonderful. staff friendly and gracious. Location the bes-t out of the main hub of Times Square just enough- easy walk to just about everywhere and subway just steps away. will return!
“Great little quiet hotel”
I would stay at this hotel again. The room rates were reasonable, the bed comfortable, the staff very accomodating.
“Location was great”
We enjoyed the hotel and location. Staff could have been friendlier, but I think it is a New York employee attitude, because a lot of employees weren't friendly.
“Good price/great location”
Stayed here in January. The staff was very helpful and the room, while small was clean and all you could really ask for the price in Manhattan. I will stay here again!
“Great Hotel In the Shadow of the Empire State Building”
Excellent non-chain hotel in the heart of mid-town Manhattan. Room was on the smallish size (though it had a sizeable closet), but otherwise excellent. Courteous and helpful hotel staff, although a bit curt.
“A Must for Shoppers”
This was the first time I had stayed at the Metro. We found the hotel to be brilliant. The location was excellent - especially for shoppers - Macy's is literally across the road. Easy walking distance to Times Square and all other attractions. The room was well decorated and very clean. I have been to New York 5 times and would definitely recommend this hotel. Tea and Coffee etc. available at all times of the day and night and complimentary breakfast was ample to start you off for the day.
“Nice hotel, room, location”
We really enjoyed staying there. Breafast was OK, but everything else was excelent.
“Very nice!”
Very nice hotel. They provided a great continental breakfast in the morning and everyone was friendly. We were actually upgraded to a family suite. Nice surprise. Would definitely stay there again.
“Don't listen to the negative people”
I read some negative reviews but booked anyways. Glad I did. I have been to NYC a dozen times. Sure, the room is a little small, most NYC hotels are. Who stays in the room anyways? The location was great...right by Macy's. It was a 5-10 min walk to Times Square. The subway was really close. The staff was very friendly, & helpful. The roof-top bar view of the empire state building was amazing. If you don't want any noise then skip NYC & go to the country. My only complaint was no coffee maker in the room. They did have coffee downstairs, but I would have liked it in the room. For my fellow drinkers, there is a cool pub right by the hotel.
“STAY HERE IN NYC!!”
This was my first trip to NYC - I did days of searching for a hotel that could offer everything I was looking for: Location, Cost, Quality and Cleanliness. Hotel Metro had them all! Literally the street over from the Empire State Building - had a great (albeit a steep angle!) view of it illuminated at Night from the 9th Floor. It is Mid-block between 2 major streets & 1/2 block from Macy's & Broadway! Cabs are plentiful and Metro lines are right near the hotel - one literally 50' away. The Breakfast was excellent European style meats, cheeses, breads and cereals - they even had organic yogurt! Rooms were small, but after traveling around Europe, I had no issue with that. The rooms serve their purpose - a great place to sleep and shower. The street was busy and had a lot of construction going on - but the room was quiet at night & allowed a great night's rest. The other hotels with these options & location were almost double the price as Hotel Metro. The front service desk WAS all business, but I found friendly & helpful advice (even hailed a cab for us when we were leaving & loaded our luggage - great!) from the doorman. I wish I could remember his name - it made up for any "poor" service we percieved from the front desk. I will stay HERE again the next time I come to NYC! Just reserve your rooms early as this hotel books quickly!!
