“a nice place”
Howard Johnson is a very nice place to live. the price and the service is very acceptable.
“Very good value!”
Price is good, minutes from the Lincoln Tunnel, good breakfast (the Bagels are very good!). Really worth it!
“I'd stay there again”
Hotel service was good and our room was pretty clean.However hallway was an eye sore. The shuttle service the hotel is using is a mess. They are not organized. They have no idea how many people they will drive.
“VERY NICE STAFF!”
I liked the staff at the hotel because they were very helpful. It was kinda hard to find but okay in the end.
“Would go back”
No problems here, stayed for 4 nights so I could visit Nyc. The other negative reviews are from people who live in castles. Staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. I would definitely go back here knowing how it is. Only negative I can think of, the lighting in my room was dim, don't know if it was just mine though. I don't sleep with the lights on anyways.
“Great Value”
The possibility of drive to NY without driving into Manhattan avoiding heavy traffic and impossible parking, using the shuttle to Times Square.
“Great hotel but costly to reach Manhattan”
The Hotel was good, the room was big and clean, the only bad thing is you have to pay 90usd to go to La Guardia or Kennedy airports, besides to go to Manhattan you have to walk 6 blocks, use public transportation and pay 5usd daily or pay the Hotel van 14usd daily....so if you arrive to La Guardia or Keneddy and plan to travel to Manhattan daily you will spend a lot of money in tansportation.
“Good value for location”
We were going to a concert in East Rutherford, NJ and needed a place to crash the night before driving home. Since it is so close to NYC it was hard to find an inexpensive hotel, until we found this one. It was clean, quiet and the location was great. If you are visiting the Meadowland I would recommend this for you stay if you are just looking for a place to sleep.
“Not impressed”
The price was right (booked through Expedia), and the desk staff (owners it looked like) were decently accommodating, but that's about all I can recommend about this place. Rooms were dingy, old and run down (not terribly clean). Walls/doors are extremely poorly insulated against sounds from outside/other rooms. Best to have a car with you and not to stay more than a night or two if possible.
“OK Hotel”
The Hotel was quite small the staff were nice it reminded me of a 1960s style hotel. It was clean and suited my needs a place to sleep and take a shower.
