The location of this New York City hotel is a top advantage: Carnegie Hall is across the street, and many guests enjoy walking from the hotel to Central Park, Fifth Avenue shops, and Radio City Music Hall.
Wireless Internet access (surcharge) throughout the hotel is an added convenience. Fitness-minded guests also have access to a health club across the street (surcharge).
This hotel is entirely smoke-free.
Rooms
This Midtown New York hotel offers generously proportioned guestrooms and suites, some with views of 57th Street. All have desks with ergonomic chairs, walk-in closets, and in-room safes. Spacious bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations and Gilchrist & Soames bath products.
Traditional decor includes cherry-finish furniture, heavy curtains, and floral-patterned bedspreads. All suites and most guestrooms have convenient pantry kitchenettes with sinks, microwaves, compact refrigerators, and coffee/tea makers.
Additional amenities include wireless Internet access (surcharge), phones with voice mail, flat-panel TVs with cable channels, complimentary New York magazines, and windows that open.
All guestrooms and suites are nonsmoking.

“had a great experience”
They put us in a huge suite without charging us extra. The staff was friendly and outgoing. They gave us good tips about the city. Would come back to this hotel.
“Excellent location. Would go back there!”
Excellent location. When we arrived we simply went for a walk round to see what we could find...we found 5th Ave, Times Square and Rockefeller very easily, infact by accident. So close to all midtown attractions!
“Salisbury Experience.”
My wife, two daughters and myself stayed at this hotel for a day in early January '12. We were given a room on the 9th floor which included a full living room plus the bedroom with 2 queen beds. We loved it! It was as we were in an apartment, not just a tiny hotel room. It is half a block from the 57 street subway station, 2 blocks from Central Park, and really close to Columbus Square. Best bang for your buck. Highly recommended.
“great for everyone”
great location, very clean, helpful staff, great breajfast for 9 bucks...lots of room!
“A Hit For Us!”
All in all a pleasant surprise. I'd been to NYC many many times but never heard of this hotel. My daughter and I stayed there and it was very comfortable and very quiet, yet close to everything we wanted to do. It was VERY clean and It was an easy walk or subway ride to Theatre district, Greenwich Village, Upper Westside, Fifth Ave, and Financial District. Great restaurants in all price ranges nearby. The heat in the room, like so many hotels in NYC didn't have a control, so while it was 24 degrees outside, it was like 80 in the room. However, the windows actually open, so that was OK. It was tricky plugging in cell phones and laptops, as the outlets were old and there was no power strip, just a standard extension cord, but we got by OK.
“Great location and spacious rooms.”
The hotel was in a great location for us - 3 blocks to Central Park and a straight route to Time Square. Our suite was very spacious with sleeping and living areas. Definitely a do again for us!
“definitely book it!”
Excellent hotel. It definitely had character (i.e. not everything was brand new and spiffy) but it was lovely and comfortable. The kitchenette was very useful. One note: In my room there were no 3-prong plugs near the desk. I could charge my laptop in the kitchenette instead but this was slightly annoying (however, I didn't ask for an extension cord either). Also, there is a whole foods at 59 Columbus Circle, a duane reed with a grocery section at 6th Ave and 57th, a variety store next door (the yoghurt and granola combo was very good) and numerous cafes (I highly recommend Fluffy's cafe (despite the name) a few blocks south on 7th ave - their stir-frys and salads were well-priced and yummy!). Also note that there are some menus in the room - but the prices are very outdated for the American health bar. We also ate at Angelo's pizza place which was very good (note the small pizza is the equivalent of Canadian medium or large!).
“loved it”
fine hotel, good situation, very large room and nice people. perfect
“Rhonda's trip”
Great location, big rooms, helpful staff. Great breakfast
“Great Central Park Hotel”
Stayed from March 4 to March 9, 2012 with my wife and 6 month year old baby. Really great hotel for the price. Rooms are clean and very spacious. Hotel staff very friendly and professional. Great location (2 blocks from Central Park, 2 Blocks form Columbus Circle, 5 blocks from Times Square, etc.). You really get your money´s worth and more. The only downside is that there is no free Wi-Fi. I would recommend it.
