“4 Star Quality For Less Than Half the Price”
The Glengate hotel was really cheap and it was really clean and a very nice room. I stayed in the jucuzzi suite and the room and FANTASTIC.It had all of the amenities of a 4 star hotel and was much cheaper than that. I would highly recommend this to anyone how is travelling or as romatic getaway.
“Great Hotel!”
The hotel staff is very friendly and professional. My girlfriend and I stayed in a room with a queen size be and a small balcony (just request it) on the third floor. The room is a little smaller than most, but enough to be comfortable. There was no microwave or refrigerator, you need to request those when booking. The bathroom was clean and there were no problems there. The balcony was covered in bird droppings; there was no where to step where there were no droppings. The parking is indeed a small problem. There aren't enough spots in the outside parking, so we had to use the underground garage. I had a toyota camry and it fit well with no problems. However, make sure not to use anything larger (i.e. SUV, minivan) The hotel is a 10 minute walk( about a mile) from the falls and its attractions, or a 1.5 hour drive from Toronto.
“This Hotel and the Staff was Amazing,”
To start off, I had booked 2 nights at the Camelot in for a jetted tub room and was denied that room, so canceled my reservation. So I went to The Glengate where the last 3 nights of my vacation was booked for. I cannot even put into words how much I appreciate this hotel, it's owner, the manager, and it's staff. We went on our vacation to get married, and got married in our hotel room. The staff was so friendly, helpful, just amazing. The rooms are very nice and housekeeping did an awesome job keeping everything clean. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a trip to the falls, I will definitely be staying there again in the future, and celebrating my anniversary there as well. If anyone that works at The Glengate read this, thank you again for everything.
“Impressed”
Quiet, conveniently located, friendly staff, provided excellent maps and resources and coupon for delicious supper. Parking underground only for small cars and even at that it is tight. Excellent price!
“Stopover enroute to Toronto”
This hotel is extremely well-managed. Everything spic-and-span. Very comfortable, affordable accommodations. Well located base point for exploring Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Not the place to stay, however, if you are looking for a hotel with a view of the Falls.
“Its all good :)”
I wasnt excepting a lot. I just wanted a clean place to lay my head, a room to store my stuff and a staff to help me not get lost....I got everything I wanted! The staff was helpful and kind (I asked about a million questions and they didnt roll their eyes once!). We didnt walk to the falls because our visit took place 2 weeks before Christmas and it was Chilly-Willy out there, but it seemed close enough for us to walk had it been warmer. The only caution is make sure you bring soap, shampoo/conditioner...I'm a girlie girl and have long hair and the stuff they supply wasnt good..But other than that, It was all good! Had a blast for for the price we paid, would stay there again.
“A Good Value”
A clean, comfortable no frills hotel. Parking is free but a little confined. The continental breakfast was ok.
“Great Hotel, Great Price, Definitely Will Go Back”
Do check this hotel out, we were a bit wary at first based on the price and the pictures and reviews on the website but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was small but charming and the hotel staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. This is a great hotel for the budget conscious traveller. Why pay high prices if all you want is a place to store your stuff and a bed at night. Save your money since Niagara Falls is quite expensive. We were surprised at the size of our suite. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The only negative comment I would have is that the walls are quite paper thin. There was a large family staying in most of the rooms on our floor and they were constantly slamming their doors, talking loudly in their rooms and hallway. Thankfully, they left the next day so we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. We would definitely consider this hotel for a return visit to the area. A lot of the negative reviews we had read about the hotel concerned the parking garage. We were offered a spot in the parking lot behind the hotel and never had a problem. The hotel is not that far from Clifton Hill (15 min walk) so we left the car in the parking lot (free parking) and walked.
“Hotel is located in an unexpected location, great view if room is facing water and bridge at night”
The hotel is located in an unexpected location , all 3 cars missed it and had to turn around. The rooms, service, the hotel as whole is great. The continental breakfast was an added great feature of the hotel specially when travelling with groups of kids. The one thing that our group was not happy about was the parking lot. We did not know that we had to pay $26.00 a day to park in the hotel parking lot. Not that we had any choice. There was no parking place nearby at all. It was an added expense to our group that we did not expect. It was a teen convention and the kids and chaperones were limited in their financial resources, so paying extra placed a dumper on their weekend. This kind of information should be available to travelers.
“I shall return...”
I stayed at the Glengate Hotel for 4 nights. I booked online and got excellent prices. The services are actually a 4-star quality. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful, and always accomodating. The rooms are spacious and kept spotless. The hotel also offers a nice continental breakfast, and the food is fresh and The hotel is in a quiet location, just a short 20 minute walk to the busttling Falls centre. There are plenty of restaurants close by offering a variety of menus. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Falls. I hope to return in the very near future.
