“Absolutely cannot wait to return!”
We have recently returned from Mas De Pierre and neither my husband or I can wait to return. The hotel is an absolute jewel-and the staff are even better. We found everyone to be so helpful and had a lovely stay. Could not recommend this luxury hotel highly enough. It is situated in a very quiet area but the historical and beautiful St Paul de Vence is only a short distance away. If this review helps you to decide to book, then I can only wish you as pleasant and relaxing a stay as we had ourselves.
“Tranquil, elegant and so comfortable”
Superb location in valley below St Paul de Vence. Room (Privilege category) was excellent - an Expedia upgrade at time of booking. Frighteningly expensive food at hotel, but plenty of great alternatives locally. Pool and spa just perfect, plenty of sunbeds and loved the cabanha style layout. Would like to return for another stay - definitely a special treat kind of place.
“Excellent!!”
I highly recommend Le Mas de Pierre and look forward to returning in the near future. The hotel is ideally located close to St.Paul and yet provides easy access to the Cote d'Azur. Upon arrival we were very impressed by the staff, who continued to be overly helpful throughout our stay. The charm of this delightful hotel is captivated on it's website and you will not be disappointed. The rooms are exquisitely decorated in the Provence style, the pool area is exceptional, the restaurant superb, service excellent....what more could we have wished for....other than to have stayed longer!!
“First class hotel with first class service”
When it is done right it all looks easy and so it is with Le Mas de Pierre. It isn't that there was any particular spectacular event, it is simply that this hotel understands its business and works hard to deliver. The hotel itself is a goode walk from the town but staff will take you to and from town seemingly whenever you wish. The facilities are first class and well maintained, the room we stayed was large and well furnished. Everyone we encountered spoke good english and seemed happy to do so. Service was well balanced, staff were always there when needed but not overbearing. Any request was cheerfully met. This is where we will stay next time.
“Gorgeous and so french country but stay way from the restaurant!”
Read above. Very beautiful and sooo clean and well decorated. However restaurant was very dissappointing and very expensive. I had soup for 22 euros and was about 2 ounces. They claim very gourmet however we weren't impressed.
“Just beautiful !”
from the moment we arrived we had a fantastic time - even our 7 year old son enjoyed his stay. Great Swimming pool (heated in Spring)and Jacuzzi. Extremely pleasant, but expensive restaurant - service is brilliant and efficient. Staff in general very helpfull and on the ball. Super place to come to out of season for a long weekend.
“The restaurant food was out of this world and the service was outstanding.”
The restaurant food was out of this world and the hotel service was outstanding. We even got a ride in the Christian Dior 1948 Rolls Royce which was particularly special.
“Our fourth visit!”
Breakfast is rather expensive. We bought croissant and coffee at a local cafe for 1/5th of the cost! This latest visit was during May and there were barely enough pool beds and no drinks service by the pool. Otherwise a fabulous hotel. Very well situated for visiting Nice and its environs. Booking with Expedia represents far better value than attempting to book direct!
“Quiet, luxury hotel near a beautiful village”
If you have the proper directions, the hotel is only about 20 minutes from the Nice airport. It's tucked away from all the noise of the beach area but just 5 minutes from this beautiful, old french village called St Paul de Vence. If you're adventurous, rent a car and visit downtown Nice, Monte Carlo, Antibes, Cannes, Eze village. Don't count on great directions from the locals. Believe it or not the signs will take you where you want to go. There are toll roads so have some coins ready. My only complaint about the hotel is the hard bed.
“Lovely base to explore St Paul De Vence”
This is a very good hotel. Top notch. And, excellent service. However, this is about 2 kms from the old village so bit of a trek up! The only thing that could be improved though was the food menu - there were just not too enough options, especially for a family with kids.

Area:
Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France: Writers and artists still flock to St-Paul-de-Vence, a dazzling example of a village perché, restored with great care and taste. Many patronise the famous inn known as the Colombe dOr (now an exclusive hotel). Handsome stone buildings crown a high ridge within its 16th-century ramparts, giving wonderful views over russet rooftops and cypresses. The Maeght Foundation just outside the village houses an impressive collection of 20th-century art.
