“Perfect stop on the way.”
Outside of Lille, close to the Motorway, it was a perfect stop on our way. We (a familly of 4 with 2 small children) stopped their on our way to Amsterdam from London. This hotel, opened in summer 2011, was the perfect stop with a very helpfull staff and rooms very clean and noticably recent. We didn't stay in Lille, so I can't say anything about how far it is and how easy it is to reach the city centre from there. But, about 1 hour from the Eurotunnel Terminal in Calais, it's definitely a very nice place to stop on the way to further south or east in Europe, just after crossing on a Friday evening.
“ensure you u have thought out your travel as public transport is a problem”
this hotel was great, the food in the resturant was first class and the staff were very freindly. the only down side is that it takes a 15 min walk to get public transport and the taxis into lille are not cheap but we found them to be very helpfull we had agreat time just a shame the weather wasn't great.
“Don't be fooled by outward appearance”
As you approach the hotel, it doesn't look much, but as soon as you walk through the doors it is a different matter. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English, and there was a free to use Xbox, and other toys for younger guests in the reception area. The rooms were of a good size and standard for the type of hotel, and included all you would expect, and seperated the toilet and bathroom. We had an evening meal which was very good, and reasonable price, and the service was good. In all good value and comfort.
“would book again”
Superior non smoking room very spacious with lobby, and separate toilet and bathroom. Kettle and teamaking facilities in room. Bit of a confusing junction off motorway to reach hotel but once in Englos, hotel clearly signposted. Spacious carpark and quiet location despite proximity of road. Very convenient for Lille but also shopping mall with supermarket and food outlets easily reached on otherside of motorway.
“Clean and comfortable”
We were just passing through to Holland and it was convenient location. Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and staff only to pleased to help if you required anything. All in all we had a good stay
“Good hotel”
Hotel was nice and extremely easy to find. Special deal was very good value - although if we'd had breakfast there, it would have virtually doubled the cost, so we found some elsewhere. The hotel is just down the road from an enormous mall and supermarket so there's everything you could need and Lille is just a 5 - 10 minute drive away.
“Not for a holiday, maybe a stop over.”
When we went france was experiencing a cold snap so when we got into the hotel we expected a nice warm room. We didn't but for the first night we thought it was just us and not being able to use the air con, turned out it didn't work at all so we were given a portable heater instead, not ideal at all, but what to do with basic france on my side and very basic english on the other? Later that night the toilet randomy sprung a leak, water was everywhere. We were moved to another room (next door infact) which conveniently enough had a working air con system. The TV system offered little if you didn't speak French, when going to a foreign country Im expecting to get their channels but i'm also used to getting BBC World channels. Would have liked to been able to catch up with the news while in bed. Free wifi but the connection was poor in the main, Ventured out for breakfast the first day or two but ending up using the hotels. Pricey for what it was. Sausages and bacon were uneatable but the other guests seemed to like it. Typical continental offering was poor however, never really started the day well. Tried to book disabled rooms but told they were full.On inspection they didn't seem to have any and certainly didn't see anyone else with any obvious disabilities there. The only rooms i'd consider to be disabled friendly had shoes in there for sale. It's a solid hotel that does what it does, but holidays isn't that, more of a business stop over and thats why i'd recommend it.
“Crump family”
We stayed here because it had good reviews and we were on a quick visit to the trenches in Belgium and wanted to stay for one night somewhere close to amenities, but not in a city. The hotel is challenging to find (even with sat nav), but once we were there it was exactly as described by others, the shopping centre close by provided somewhere to eat after a long day of driving. Not sure I'd rush to stay there again, but it was fine for what we wanted.
