“Wonderful Weekend Getaway”
My husband, daughter (4) and I stayed at this hotel suite and we were all impressed. It has a great location with a free shuttle service to King St. I took my husband there as a surprise getaway for his birthday, and when I mentioned it to the front desk, they were able to provide us with a room on the top floor overlooking the river with great views. The only thing we were disappointed with was the hotel pool--the water was way too cold, and it is only 3 feet deep. Otherwise, we would definitely come back and stay at the same hotel, and I would highly recommend this place to friends/family visiting from out of town.
“Great place to stay!”
We had a wonderful visit to this hotel. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They offer shuttle service to airport (fastest way to get to metro) and into "downtown" Old Town Alexandria. Lots of resturants close by. Very nice hotel. We would stay again.
“would definitely go back”
nice lobby area; clean bathroom
“Impressive”
Great experience. Clean, roomy, close to attractions in the Washington DC area. Don't pay to park, plenty of safe free parking on the street. A little stingy with the towels, just let them know what you need.
“A pet-friendly gem!”
Impressive hotel! Furnishings were nice and attractive. Everyone that we had contact with was friendly, helpful, and responsive. Our six-year old enjoyed having two large flat-screen televisions at her disposal (one in the master and one in the living area). The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from King St, the main commercial area. And the hotel accommodates pets (less than 80 lbs). You wouldn't know it though. Although I saw other dogs during our stay, not once did I see pet hair, scratch marks, the errant "mishap," or hear barking, yelping, mewing, or any other pet noise. Definitely would stay there again!
“Excellent Hotel”
The Sherator is a lovely place to stay. My room was very clean and had the extra touch of multiple pillows. The atmosphere was quiet as well. My only complaint is the breakfast bar was a little overpriced. The food was good, though.
“Great Value”
Special weekend rate was a great value to get away for a short holiday. Restaurant across the street had a great breakfast buffet on Sunday.
“Great Value”
Comfortable, attractively appointed suite included separate living room and bedroom with French doors and flat screen TVs in both rooms. Lovely.Pocket door between bedroom and bath. Great bed. Fridge, wet bar.Drink the bottled water provided and you will be charged dearly. We heeded reviews and parked on the street each day.The garage is expensive. Metro about 15-20 minute walk or you can take the hotel shuttle. We had dinner in restaurant one evening- only customers in dining room but area offers competition. Food okay, but with other options available, dine out if the budget allows.
“Great location, comfortable beds.”
We enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely although the daily housekeeping left something to be desired. I don't think that our housekeeper reflected the hotel as a whole as the rest of the hotel and our experience was a 5/5. We will go back again.
“Great Place Nice Room but Food & Beverage Unreasonably Expensive”
Although it was a nice hotel with a great suite..$4 for a cup of coffee is unacceptable. You have to dine elsewhere to get reasonably priced meals. The emptiness of the dinning facilities reflected this.
