Fairmont Newport Beach offers 440 guestrooms updated in a $32 million renovation (2006), all with marble entryways.
Rooms are handsomely appointed with a textured natural palette of rye, chocolate, gold, and cayenne, and accented with tumbled granite, woven cane, and rich British Colonial wood.
Beds are topped with pillowtop mattresses, goosedown duvets, and 330-thread-count Egyptian-cotton linens. Marble bathrooms include telephones, plush robes, and Miller Harris products, imported from London.
Rooms include 32-inch high-definition flat-panel TVs, CD players, electronic safes, private bars, and coffeemakers. High-speed Internet access is available (surcharge).

bambú Restaurant - Fresh California cuisine served in the midst of a four-story atrium with lush gardens filled with palms, orchids, and 20-foot bamboo trees. Dinner menu offers a variety of grilled steaks, chops, and seafood, including the Newport Coast Cioppino for two (served in Banbu Lounge until further notice). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Sunday breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelets, crêpes, and quiche and a la carte breakfast available Sundays 6 AM - Noon.
bambú Lounge - Cocktails and light fare in elegant and relaxing setting adjacent to restaurant. Crab cakes, sushi, Crispy Calimari Salad among menu choices. Open daily.
In-room dining is available 24 hours a day.
Recreation
The large heated outdoor pool, open year-round, includes a spa tub, cabanas, and a sundeck with lounge chairs. The fitness center features state-of-the-art Techno Gym equipment with built-in LCD monitors. Complimentary towels, water, and fruit are provided. Harbor cruises and deep sea fishing are also available in the Newport Beach area.

“As good as it gets”
Excellent Hotel Architecture, Friendly and professional staff, Unbelievable Cuisine....Would place this hotel in the same category as the 4 Seasons......Thanks so much!
“relaxed and friendly”
All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I made a specific request to the maid for another washcloth early in the day and she didn't forget when she did our room service. We had occasion to have one of the engineers look at something in our and he arrived in a timely manner and took care of our situation and was friendly while doing it.
“One Night Stay”
The hotel was clean and fresh. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was large. My rate included free wifi. My only complaint is that there is no self parking, only valet.

Just wanted to add that the beds were super comfortable. I dont think I have ever had such a great night of sleep in a hotel.
“Nice Hotel!”
Hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. However, it is easy to see things in the room, such as wallpaper, furniture, etc, is a bit outdated and needs a make-over. Not a serious issue though. Hotel is really nice and the neighborhood is extremely clean and well maintained and seemed safe. Not much around the hotel if you are on foot. Just a few restaurants and shops. I recommend walking across the street to the liquor store to buy sodas, water, snacks, etc if you want any of those. The hotel prices are incredibly high: example: $7 for a bottle of water in the hotel. Wow. The free shuttle service to various tourist attractions is great! I am very pleased with the hotel's services and employees. I believe the service was the best quality of the hotel. I highly recommend taking the free shuttle to Balboa Island! Plan on spending several hours there to explore, shop, and relax on the beach. Very beautiful place! Just a comment about the John Wayne airport. I recommend you give yourself much more time than normal. Ticket counter for American Airlines took almost 40 minutes to drop off my bags after I did the self-check in. Security took about 20 minutes. So, plan accordingly so you do not miss your flight.

Excellent hotel. Very clean. The staff are amazing however that's what you should expect from a Fairmont.
“Will definitely be back!”
I had never stayed at the Fairmont Hotel before, but I certainly will again. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time and everyone we encountered that worked at the hotel was extremely friendly and professional. The hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed a good night's sleep.
“Close to Disneyland!”
Great stay and within 15 minutes of Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center! Would highly recommend.
“Overnight stay”
Our room was great. We stayed in the Junior Suite. It had a large balcony with a table and chairs. We could see the airplanes taking off and landing. The bathroom was one of the best parts. Amazing tub and loved the Rose 31 toiletries! Planned to head to the beach that night but decided to stay in, relax on the balcony with some wine, and watch the planes. The bed was huge and comfortable. Can't wait for some free time to come back. Went to an amazing restaurant less than 5 minutes away called il Barone.
“Excellent hotel - very well priced for a Fairmont Property”
Just returned from a two night stay at the Fairmont Newport Beach. Hotel was in excellent condition and rooms very well appointed. Hotel staff with the exception of the front desk were very warm and welcoming. The girl who checked me in at the front desk was not overly warm but everyone else certainly was.
