“A good and inexpensive hotel for Oslo tourists”
The Anker has quite small but adequate rooms with small bathrooms (shower next to toilet with a curtain, so you mop the floor with your bath towel after you dry.) It is a friendly place with good breakfasts. Its outdoor beer garden is sometimes closed when you would like to sit there during the day. It is in a multicultural neighborhood - lots of immigrants and thus lots of (for Oslo) inexpensive restaurants serving ethnic goods. About 20 minutes walk to railroad and subway station, 25 to downtown, but good tram service to station and downtown. Oslo is a safe city to walk in so not being in the downtown center is not a problem. Our last stay was as a family group of 12 people, and everyone seemed pleased. Has good views from upper story windows, and is next to a riverside park, and not far to restaurants.
“great value for the dollars”
I was very comfortable in the room and especially felt the bed was lovely. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom, what a great idea. street was a little loud however I always travel with ear plugs so I slept well. breakfast buffet in the morning is very good as it really gives you a good start to your day. really appreciated that they had a computer for guests to use with internet access. front desk staff were all very pleasant and helpful I would stay here again.

Well located about a 15 minute walk from the Central Station, excellent buffet breakfast, excellent and knowledgable staff. A good quality "budget" hotel would definitely use again.Comfortable beds and reasonably sized rooms.

Doesn't look like much from the outside... But it's VERY COZY and CLEAN!!!!! Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't like was the continental breakfast... But hey I'm used to bacon, eggs, and patatoes

The staff was very helpful. They gave us good directions and spoke English well. The breakfast was exceptional. Some good eating places near by. Good location. Easy access to bus transportaion to town. Parking is expensive.

“Nice room, good breakfeast, friendly staff”
The hotel was clean and easy to get to from the main train station, close to the pedestrian mall. The staff was eager to point out places to visit and how to use the public transportation. The breakfast was quite good and met the expected European level of quality. The only drawback was the steet noise from the traffic below but it was not enough to interrupt sleeping. The tram and bus stop is only about 100 meters away which made getting anywhere easy.
“Comfortable Hotel”
This is a nicely kept hotel, with helpful desk employees. We are a married couple, 62 and 64 years old; younger travellers might find the neighbourhood a bit quiet - perfect for us. About a 10 minute walk from the central train station. Kathleen.
“Will definitely go back!”
Very friendly staff and shiny room! Despite the hotel is having a mayor refurbishment my stay was really pleasant. Good breakfast (serrano ham on the buffet great!) Great location, will go back to that hotel if I ever go back to Oslo.
“Very impressed”
Easy to find, with very helpful staff. Very convenient location for the town and the Public transport (which is brilliant, trams buses and trains) Breakfast was good, you could eat for the day with the amount on offer, always clean, always tidy. Room comfortable and High Quality free WiFi and free Safe Deposit in Reception. We rated this hotel very good.
