“Great time at hotel.”
The hotel was fantastic! Oslo is notoriously expensive, but this was good value under the circumstances. The hotel had a unique vibe - better aimed at younger people. It was reasonably close to the central station, although the neighborhood looked a bit dodgy late at night.
“GREAT Hotel in a convenient location.”
VERY friendly and helpful staff!!!! I have nothing but good things to say about staying at this hotel. Located close to the main train station in Oslo. Easy to find on foot. Room was clean and modern. Words of wisdom. It says check in is at 3PM. That is firm. There is a fee if you try to check in before that. Not a big deal when you are in a new places with lots to explore :) I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area!
“Simple and Modern Hotel”
Room was nice but small. Shower had no curtain or door, so bathroom floor + toilet would get wet. However the heated tiles in bathroom were nice. You have to pay extra for room service or extra clean towels. Overall a nice place in a good location, but don't expect any luxury.
“Fine Value”
Comfort Hotel Express was a fine value in an expensive city. The room was large, and clean, with a nice Scandinavian vibe. The hotel coffee was free--which was good since coffee at a local bakery was the equivalent of $10--and good. Breakfast was available, but I did not try it. I would stay in the hotel again if I head back to Oslo. Free wireless throughout the hotel and use of computers in the lobby. Friendly and helpful staff.
“Clean place to use as home base”
This is a new concept brand for Comfort. It is actually a good value for your money and despite some of the following comments, the room is well designed and serves the purpose of a place to call home base while out sightseeing all day. The frills are paired down to keep the price low - breakfast is not included (which is the case is most European hotels), no restaurant or bar, no daily maid service, no concierge. The room is small - not much bigger than a cruise ship cabin, but it does have a full wall of windows to keep the room bright. There is no closet or dresser. A luggage rack folds down from the wall to put your suitcase on, but if you have more than one suitcase, the other has to go on the floor. There are four wall hooks with a few hangers. The bathroom is decent sized. Move the toilet paper before taking a shower!!! Our room had a third bed stored in the ceiling that would fold down if needed. Could not imagine three people in this sized room. There was a chair. Location - mostly a business area a few blocks from the city center. It was a easy walk. Not much around for food. The wi-fi worked well. Had to get a passcode from the front desk that expired every 24 hours. Parking - Lots of spaces in front of the hotel that are free from from 5p - 9a weeknights and 5p Saturday through 9a Monday. The other times, you must feed the pay station and put a slip on your dashboard so the police can see it. There is a two hour limit.
“Overall good room for short stay”
Loved the easy self check-in and check-out process. Room was decent size and clean with a comfortable bed. Only downside was the shower didn't have a door/curtain so water splashed over more of the bathroom floor.
