Cava - Air-conditioned dining room and shaded garden terrace. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Friday night seafood buffet. Saturday night prime-rib buffet. Lunch/dinner choices such as peppered scallops, pecan-crusted white snapper, steaks, barbecued ribs, pasta, seafood. Kids eat dinner free with each paid adult entrée.
Sirocco - Air-conditioned, lake-view, fine-dining restaurant with notable wine list. Northern Italian menu. Dinner only. Choices such as bruschetta with duck/chicken-liver mousse, grilled scampi with bell-pepper sottoli, beef carpaccio, mussels and clams in broth, wild salmon with wine-tarragon sauce, beef tenderloin with organic baby arugula in white-truffle vinaigrette, risotto with porcini, lobster ravioli, mixed grilled of quail, duck, pheasant.
Stir Lounge - Expansive, multi-level bar/lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows with views of lake and Santa Rosa Mountains. Plus intimate areas with overstuffed seating. Sports on TVs. Pool table. Open mid-afternoon to late night. Specialty cocktails and appetizers. Live entertainment.
Glo and Glo Sushi Bar - Sushi bar with outdoor terrace that offers specialty cocktails, microbrewed beers, extensive wine list, and tapas menu. Dinner only.
Pool Bar - Casual open-air spot open from mid-morning until dusk. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs. Children's menu.
Café Biscotti - Open early morning to late night for Starbucks coffee, pastries, desserts. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Recreation
A swimming complex consists of three interconnected beach-style heated outdoor pools; a 25-by-15-foot toddlers' pool; and two five-person spa tubs sheltered by trellised gazebos. Pools remain open until 10 PM. Use of two lighted tennis courts is complimentary.
The Golf Resort at Indian Wells adjacent to the hotel offers two golf courses, a driving range, a putting green, and gold lessons. Carts include Global Positioning System monitors for measuring distances to pins. A Callaway Golf Performance Center fits clubs for purchasers.
The resort's Camp Oasis offers a variety of arts and crafts activities for kids, such as painting on palm bark and rocks or weaving with yarn and golf ball painting. Weather permitting, the Camp Oasis kids are out on the tennis courts or the putting green. Miniature golf is also available nearby.

Spa
Spa Esmeralda offers women's and men's steam rooms and relaxation lounges; a garden courtyard with an eight-person spa tub and plunge pool; and cabanas for outdoor treatments. “Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, Indian Wells”
My friend & I had a wonderful 9 nights at the splendid Esmerelda Hotel. Overall the hotel is a superb experience, They ARE doing a complete bedroom refurbishment in the next year, & it needs it. We had a standard rm w resort view, & the cleanliness in rm was excellent. The beds/bedding are superb, great bathroom w separate toilet, 2 basins, a gd shower in the bath/plentiful supply of towels. The bedroom furniture is good quality but tired, & lacking in storage space, drawers etc. The rm safe is a problem as it must be at least 6'6" off the ground, but my request for a stool to aid use of the safe, more coathangers, room fridge & all of our requirements was met w speedy visit from housekeeping. I have visited this hotel before & I found a very big improvement in the main Cava Restaurant, both in quality of food & esp. service-they couldn't have been more helpful. The pool is magnificent and we spent as much time as poss there, but we were actually staying there to attend the IW Tennis Tournament which was excellent & would recommend to all tennis fans. The hotel boasts its own golf course, spa & best hotel Gym I have ever seen. Concierge Desk was extremely helpful & pleasant at all times & my only negative comment is reserved for the Reception Desk. We had several issues with various staff on Reception, during our visit & in telephone calls before our arrival, with one very outstanding expection - a charming girl called Remy who couldnt have been more efficient & helpful.

My two children and I went for Spring break, had a GREAT time. Pool was perfect for all ages, great BBQ, music by the pool. Activities for the children. Movies at night outside was so fun. Close to many attractions; zoo, museum, golf, tennis etc.

We were very impressed with our room. Because we have no kids, we were offered the quiet corner room. It was very spacious like suite and the view from the window was beautiful. Besides, because we were customers of Expedia, the resort fee and the internet access fee were included in the room rate. However, please check your bill when you check out of the hotel. They charged it once. Anyway, we want to go back to this hotel again!!
“Delightful!”
Upon arrival to the hotel, I got lost in the beautiful lobby. As I walked in circles, the chef [Estavan] noticed my confusion, and lifted my bag and walked me directly to the front desk. The staff at the front desk informed me of the special deal I had with Expedia ($50 resort credit) which my boyfriend and I used to share delicious treats poolside. Our room [3096] had a beautiful view of the pool and surrounding mountains - fabulous amenities - (Aveda products!) and the bed was like sleeping in heaven. The hallway walk from the front desk to our room did have a stale odor - but once we entered our room - we were just thrilled. Even better - while a big family with children were audible from the hallway - the room was virtually soundproof - we really slept well. Yes, it's $10 per cocktail, and I don't understand why chips and salsa cost $8 by the pool, but only $3 at the inside bar - but they were tasty nonetheless. We only ventured out of the hotel so we could try a sushi place in the desert - otherwise I would have loved to try the Italian place for dinner - next time! The Esmeralda has become our destination for quick getaways from the beach - we'll be back for certain!

Great hotel, most comfortable, but as others have mentioned in previous reviews, the food prices are breathtaking.

The hotel was wonderful upon check in we recieved a FREE upgraded room! It was a room & 1/2. Beautiful room, two large walk-in closets, corner room with balcony golf course views from two sides of the room. Oversized room with bonus seating area very comfortable. Hotel offer alot of family friendly activities, ie: movie nights open are poolside, art projects. sand castle contests, kids eat free! Wondrful family vaction, a great place to take the kids and still have relaxing adult time...
