“affordable quality boutique hotel”
Due to the killer weather condition , heating system of hotel was amazing. Breakfast quality was also facinating ,location also one of the best in Paris. I really get pleasure from staying in this hotel.
“Nice cozy hotel”
We stayed at chaplain hotel for two nights after staying at a diffrent hotel for three nights. The room was very good clean and comfortable. They had left drinks in the minibar which were free and replenished every day!! the room was clearly renovated as everything was very new and clean, except for the door. it was about an inch too short and that made the noise from the room go out, but we never actually heard anything from other rooms inside the room though, only when we were in the hallway waiting for the elevator. The elevator is SUPER TINY. only one person with luggage or two people without anything else. the lobby is small and the reception is also very small. Breakfast is served in the lobby everyday and it is a very good breakfast buffet for only 14 euros. Free wifi is available. room has a closet, safe, minibar, hair dryer, towels, shampoo body wash body lotion, No conditioner though. compared to the other hotel we stayed at it had a home feel to it, front desk people were very helpful even looked up rental scooter website for us!! I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the montparnasse area. it is also very close to metro station, shopping, a lot of restaurants and cafes, and a velib station just on the same street.
“Quiet location in busy area”
The hotel staff were always very helpful and all spoke English. The location is on a very quiet side street in a busy area (Montparnasse). The rooms are very small but perfect for the tourist who expects to spend most of the day sightseeing. The bed was a little hard for our taste, but otherwise fine. The elevator is not for claustrophobics--only two people can use it at once--but it was reliable. One interesting thing--you leave your key at the desk when you leave, which means you get to interact with the staff for a while each time you return. There is no restaurant, but they do have nice continental breakfast in the morning at a reasonable price. There are a number of good restaurants and cafes very close by. There is a laundromat across the street if you need one, and the hotel will also do laundry. The metro stops (Vavin and Montparnasse Bienvenue) are just a block or two away, and it is quick and easy to get to any of the major tourist attractions. For the price, it was a good find. We would definitely stay again if we came back.
“Great Hotel”
The hotel was a wonderful place to rest in the busy city of Paris! Thankfully the staff spoke English because we knew NO French. Also, there was a great bakery right down the street to get your morning pastries.
“Lovely hotel!”
The hotel rooms are small but very comformable. There were cafes around the corner where we was able to sit down and have breakfast. There was also restaurants and the metro so it was very easy to get around. It was a residential area which made it feel like being at home. Would recommend this hotel.
“3 night stay at the Chaplain Rive Gauche hotel Paris”
After reading lots of Paris hotel reviews my wife and I booked the Chaplain Rive Gauche for a 3 night mini break. We had booked an airport transfer which cost €35 from Paris CDG airport and it was well worth the money as we arrived at the airport at 21:30 and didn't fancy the train and Metro adventure with our luggage. We had already viewed the outside of the hotel on Google Maps street view which I always recommend. But in this case there were no nasty surprises just a clean and tidy hotel frontage. Once through the door the lobby was small but very clean and modern. We were welcomed into the hotel by the receptionist who thankfully spoke excellent English as our 'O'-level French was rather rusty. We had booked a 'Club King' room in hope it would be more spacious than most Paris hotels. We used the small but efficient 2 person lift to the 4th floor. Our room was very clean, modern and well equipped. Over the 3 night stay we found the bed to be very comfortable, housekeeping kept the room fresh and clean and the hotel staff really looked after us. The general location of the hotel was also very good with lots of bars, cafe's and boulangeries. We didn't eat in the hotel as we wanted the freshly baked delights found in the boulangeries and again we were not disapointed with the choice in the surrounding streets. The hotel is very well located with a metro station and bus stops close by. Overall a great hotel in a great location, highly recommended!
“Would have loved to have spent more time”
We will come back to this hotel again! My husband and I only had one night at the Chaplain Rive Gauche, but we were really pleased with the service and the room. Having stayed in several hotels in Paris, I set my size expectations low. The rooms here are also small, but very well appointed and comfortable. Modern and cozy. Our room was quiet, but the location is central and near a good metro stop. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Not usually impressed with hotel breakfasts, but this was an exception. Great pastry, juice, yogurts, and (because I am an American, I get excited about this) eggs! Delicious, especially early in the morning before a long day of travel. I'll look forward to our next trip to Paris and staying here again!
“Great Hotel and Great Location”
This intimate hotel has character and style. Service is friendly and impeccable. Fixtures and equipment are top quality. I found the free availability of international newspapers and of mini-bar contents to be a really great touch. Location next to Vavin metro can't be beat. The area is lively and stylish, close to the Jardin du Luxembourg. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Paris.
“This is how a small hotel should be.”
This is a small European-style hotel. Excellent staff. Well designed and very pleasant small rooms. Quiet. Added something to our vacation. Great local restaurants (really). Easy access to the Metro. Definitely would stay here again.
“Perfect for first trip to Paris”
The room itself was small in comparison to western (US) rooms, but not in a bad way; truth is, we were only in there to sleep and shower. You want to spend time in Paris inside, find a "name" hotel somewhere with wasted space rooms; then again, who wants to spend time inside? For the most part things were quiet during our week except for last couple days when room above us had a kid or two jumping around at odd times... not that such doesn't happen everywhere I've ever traveled. No bad marks for that small thing. We didn't purchase or use the daily breakfast (14 Euro) -- even though it looked very yummy -- because there were countless places within walking distance, including several bakeries. Speaking of location, this hotel is perfectly situated near Vavin Metro stop -- allowed us to get everywhere whenever we wanted. Perfect for our first Paris trip. We can't say enough good things about the experience, starting with the hotel and the sights of this wonderful city. We've already decided we'll be returning again and are starting to save for it now!
