“Great location on a fun street!”
We really loved Paris! The people could not have been nicer or more helpful. The staff does not speak a lot of English but they tried very hard to met all our needs. Nice breakfast. Clean roon with newer bathroom fixtures. Just outside are fruit and seafood vendors, with 2 nice bakeries and wine/liquor stores. The online pictures are a little deceiving, as the lobby is not as spacious. Within walking distance (1-1 1/2 miles) from lots of sights. A very French/European hotel for couples and families. Would stay there again!
“Economy hotel during half term period”
Good location close to METRO station and my family enjoyed and cost perfromance is acceptable.
“Reasonably comfortable”
The hotel is very close to a metro station, and there are several groceries, bakeries, and restaurants in the neighborhood. See if you can get them to credit the price of breakfast, and eat instead in one of the local bakeries or cafes (breakfast is croissants, bread and coffee but not as good as you can get elsewhere). Rooms are cheerful and clean, but the beds are very hard. The hotel is on a pedestrian street, so it's pretty quiet for a small Paris hotel. Rooms that don't face the street are a bit more quiet.
“Nice large rooms for big families”
Hotel De Hollande was a fine hotel for a short stay in Paris. They were able to provide a large comfortable room to accomodate a large family. However, the service staff was less than impressive. We arrived very early in the am and knew that check in was only at 2pm, so we left our luggage and went to explore Paris. We returned at 1h30pm in hopes that they could give us a 1/2 hour - not too much too ask for I would think, but first the front desk guy was too involved in a personal phone conversation to even respond to my inquiry and when he finally did get off the phone 15minutes later he informed me that the check in time was 2pm and that it was not ready yet. I noted that we understood that it was 2pm and considering that they had had all day to prepare the room, I should hope that it would be ready. At 2pm it still was not ready - we finally got into the room at 2:30 and even then there were no towels. OVerall the room was fine though - mostly clean, although the shower could have used a good scrub as there was mold in the corners. Also, in the list of amenities it says internet connection and while wi-fi access is available it is not complimentary - you have to pay for it.
“Fairly grotty”
but perhaps a reflection of the price which was very reasonable.
“Plain and simple central Paris hotel.”
Good central location. Minimal facilities, eg one person only lift. Drab staircase and carpets, but room and bath/shower facilities fine. Rather noisy outside, but worth the compromise for the good location near metro stations and within easy walking distance of many of Paris attractions.
“Adequate Hotel”
Although my stay was fine, I'm not sure I would go back, so therefore cannot strongly recommend this hotel. The hotel is ok if you don't plan on spending time in the room and want to be close to something without paying the higher prices near the Louvre. The hotel is fairly conveniently located to produce stands, stores, restaurants, Montmarte, and the metro. The lobby has been remodeled, but the halls and stairs have not. It was either sloppily replasterd throughout the halls and stairs or sloppily painted as the wall color runs into the trim color. Cracked and flaking plaster was common throughout the common areas. Despite what we saw on our way to the room, the room itself was a pleasant surprise. Clean and nicely decorated - very much in contrast with the rest of the hotel. Perhaps the halls, stairs, and elevator will be remodeled soon. Oh yes, the elevator. The elevator is only large enough for one person and a suitcase. However, it is an interesting ride especially if you ride with 2 people and no suitcases. Only get in with people you want to stand close to. Throughout our stay, although we heard doors opening and closing, I never saw another guest, which was strange. All in all, we were fairly comfortable there, but our needs were minimal since we really only slept in the hotel.
“EXCELLENT Location, Lacks Quality Though”
The hotel is located conveniently. It is less than a block from a metro stop, within 1km of the Louvre, within 3km of the Moulin Rouge. You can take the metro to connect to just about anything else in the city. Eifel tower is a quick ride, Arc de Triomphe is a long walk, more than 3k. The rooms are bad. The wallpaper in my room was pealing off of the walls. The moulding around the door was broken off and rotting in some places. My friends room was junk also. There was a wall locker/ storage unit in front of his toilet, so they had to sit sideways. Also, their shower head was broken off, they had to shower holding the head. The lack of quality, the price, and location all should be taken into consideration. Overall, I was happy with what I paid for, because I could get anywhere, and the place just needs some maintenance. The staff was alright, we did recieve wet towels once, haha. I HIGHLY suggest that you call and verify your reservation at least a week in advance, so you know you are going to be taken care of. My wife and I brought our 1 year old son, and they came to set up a bed and all.
“Not impressed”
The Hotel is localized in a Central area of Paris, close to the Metro station. However, the rooms are small, not well furnished and the general conditions and maintenance of the hotel are scarce. Breakfast is acceptable.
“Not impressed”
When we arrived we were told that we had to stay at another hotel. When we arrived at the 'new' hotel we were given single beds and this hotel was dirty and of a lesser quality (or as was advertised). When we discussed our issues with reception staff he became rude and angry and told us to 'shut up'. Not good service at all.
