“Have already recommended it to friends”
Great hotel, very friendly staff, rooms kept spotless, great location in Paris. Could do with shower curtins!!!!
“Great Location”
After spending hours reviewing different hotels in Paris, I decided on the Des Nations St. Germaine based on positive user comments about this hotel on various travel-related websites. I'm glad I chose this hotel. Its located right in the heart of the Latin Quarter (5th Arrondisement), within walking distance to 2 metro stations (rue Monge & Cardinale Lemoine), the Pantheon, Notre Dame, the Louvre & d'Orsay museums, and other main attractions in Paris. The Mouffetard market is a 10-min. walk from the hotel, which is the main reason why I chose the Des Nations. (Lots of beautiful fresh produce, clothing, food, knick-knacks. Also lots of ethnic restaurants on rue Mouffetard) There are many conveniences right on rue Monge - two supermarkets, bakeries, laundromat, clothing stores, cafes, etc. The room was small but clean, comfortable and quiet. You do get CNN & BBC, mini-bar, hair dryer, ample storage space & an in-room safe. Water pressure in the shower was very good & the towels were decent. And there's air-conditioning, a rarity in hotels in Paris. Had the continental breakfast (it was good) but too pricy (approx. $14). Get your breakfast outside the hotel - its cheaper and tastier. I highly recommend the Des Nations Hotel. Its in a safe area and didn't feel touristy at all. (Its a working-class neighborhood.) The staff were very nice & all of the front desk staff are English-speaking.
“Paris is gorgeous and the staff were very helpful in all our needs”
People make the place and the the concierge (espcially Julian) was always helpful and friendly. the hotel was clean and fresh, although the twin room was small the windows were double glazed, hallway carpeted & walls insulated so we had a peaceful nights sleep. A place to visit again and again.
“A fine find!”
Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Bathroom much larger than I had been lead to expect but no shower curtains so flooding can occur!! Bonus of window doors in both bedroom & bathroom which each opened out on to (tiny) balcony overlooking main street. Not much spare room in bedroom but still plenty for purpose. Excellent location.
“Friendly and helpful service!!”
This a value for money hotel. The rooms are average european size, clean and nicely furnished. What made this hotel special was how friendly the staff at front reception were, which can be hard to find in France at times. You can ask them any question or even get them to phone restaurants to day spas and if they don't know the answer they will go on the internet to find the information. I've stayed at several 3* hotels in Paris in previous holidays but this on is the best!
“Will stay there again”
We were extremely satisfied with the hotel. My main criteria in a good hotel is cleanliness, and it was very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful and we loved the location next to Rue Moufftard. We walked all over the city from our hotel too. We had a room on the street side and could see Notre Dame peering out the window and up the street. Of course the room was small, and the mattress was just fair, but for clean, convenient and great service at a good price, it's excellent. I would definitely stay there again!
“Great location and value”
We have been to Paris a number of times. We booked for eleven nights so were thankful that we liked this hotel! The elevator and air conditioner were necessary during the record July heat. Room was small, but quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff members were consistently helpful and courteous. The location is great and the price was right. We hope to stay here again.
“Hotel: Des Nations St Germain”
Outstanding location and value. Highly recommended!!!
“Good hotel”
My sixth visit to Paris. This hotel is in an ideal location. A stone throw from a metro and also on a bus line, but also within walking distance from Notre Dame. The hotel and its rooms are small but you only need to go there to sleep and wash so that is not a problem. The staff were friendly and we faced no difficulties at all other than a bath with no shower curtain which made it difficult to keep shower water within the confines of the bath. Nonetheless this is a hotel I would recommend in its category.
“Good find - will go back”
This was a great little hotel in a great location - close to Place Monge metro and walkable to Notre Dame/st Germain. Pantheon close by too. Room was great - front of hotel with french windows opening onto Rue Monge (room 13). Staff friendly and helpful. BEST of all was the close proximity to Rue Mouffetarde and Place de Contrescarpe - behind the hotel - gorgeous area for restaurants/cafes. Delmas was good for breakast and there was a vegetarian restaurant there too. Alberto's ice cream was amazing - rivalling the Hagan Daas cafe there. We will be back!
