“Small but Adequate”
If you plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room, you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you will be simply sleeping, then this hotel is just fine. Very inexpensive, a 3 minute walk from the metro in a busy section of Paris with lots of food options close by. Room was clean and the beds comfortable. Towels and sheets changed daily. Would recommend to the budget traveller/college student who plans on spending most of their time out in Paris.
“Nothing fancy, but would go back”
The room was small, the hotel wasn't fancy, but it was clean, there was free internet access, and it was located near a major metro stop, Republique. All in all we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend it again to budget travellers looking for clean, comfort.
“Paris on a shoestring”
if you are trying to keep costs down. THis motel is located in a great location to the metro and a main street. The hotel is on a alley we would say but in Pais it is a street. THe staff was great and the place clean and neat the building is very old so it is a bit of history too. The bathroom is very small RV size or smaller. But in good working order.
“Great location for a great price!”
Every North American traveling to Paris have to expect very small rooms and bathrooms. This is the case for the Louxor but you can't beat the price! The room has all we needed for 2 adults, very clean but without a single inch extra. This hotel offers a great location in the Theater district with easy access to 3 subway stations. We spent 8 nights and visited all the major attractions by foot. Lots of grocery stores and cafes around. The staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful and enjoyed speaking English. Breakfast served was basic, (always the same: one croissant, baguette, orange juice and coffee) but convenient. Make sure you show up before 9:30 am for breakfast. They are very strict about it and they refused serving breakfast at 9:40 am. The hotel is located at the end of a very small and quiet street - difficult to find for shuttles or taxi drivers. Consider plenty of time if you have them pick you up to go back to the airport. Since the street is quiet, you can sleep well at night. They let us use the fridge to store wine and yogourt. If you like to use a wash cloth, bring your own, they don't have any. They don't provide any shampoo and only a tiny bar of soap. They also don't have a hairdryer in the room. They have one you can borrow but you have to return it once you are done. Location - low price and friendly staff are Louxor's best assets. In terms of the size of the room, bathroom and elevator, they will make good conversation material for years to come!
“As the others said, not deluxe, but a good deal”
In addition to the convenience of location, being on a small, cobblestone backstreet meant minimal traffic and therefore quiet. Best suited for those who will be sightseeing all day, and are no-frills.
“Ok for what we paid”
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It was OK for the price we payed. It was very close to a large Metro station (Republique) and within walking distance of a lot of small, and cheap cafes, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. We only slept and showered there, so we didn't mind the tiny room a lot. And believe me when I tell you, the room, especially the shower were TINY!!! But you should always expect this in most hotels in Europe. The staff was friendly and spoke English and Spanish. We had a great time!!!
“Just okay”
The hotel was just okay. The bathroom was unbelievibly small and uncomfortable. The room had virtually no place to put anything. However, everything was always clean and in order. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeble and the "included in the price" breakfast made the experience much more bareable.
“Good value, good location, bad mattress”
The location of this hotel was convenient to both the Republique and Strasbourg metro stops, which gave access to most of the metros lines. There were a good amount of shops and cafes in the area, and it wasn't overtly touristy. The hotel was very clean and the staff was quite helpful, but the bed was really a difficult thing to lie upon. A bed of nails may have been more comfortable, but if one tires oneself out sightseeing all day, sleep will come eventually. For the price and location though, I would probably come back.
“It is an OK hotel”
If you can afford to spend extra few dollars, you can probably find a hotel way better than this one. The washroom is too small and the room isn't as good as other hotels. The front desk clerks were extremely helpful, that's the only good thing about this hotel. In general, it is an OK hotel.
