“Great hotel for the money...would stay there again next time”
I booked this hotel looking for a reasonably priced hotel based on previous comments and everything was as positive as the comments had suggested. I wanted to be able to leave my bags while out for the day upon checkout and they gladly stored them for me until that evening. There was also no waiting for checking in and getting the room. I chose this hotel because of so many negative comments about other hotels, and I am glad I did.
“ideal location”
A spotless hotel, fantastic staff and a good breakfast. Set in the heart of Monmatre and near the bus and metro stations. Quirky, and with no bar, but no problem as bars within a few metres. We will be going back!!
“Will go again”
Our stay at the Hotel Clauzel was great, I was extremely please with the service. The hotel is fantastic for the price, small rooms but perfect if you’re just using it as a place to sleep and wash. The bathroom is small but the power shower was top class, the rooms are cleaned every day and the TV is ok for the evenings. The location is unbelievable, nice restaurants about 5 mins away; The Italian around the corner has good tasty food and friendly staff. The location is also perfect for metro stops and the nearest one is Notre-Dame De-lotrtte which is a straight walk to the hotel. Also you can walk to the shopping centre which is about 10 mins way. The area looks and feels safe, but you will see the odd person around, (but you will get that anywhere is Paris)
“This is our 4th stay bringing different friends with us each time.”
This is our fourth time to paris for three night stays,as allways our base was the Hotel Clauzal,as we like the location and convenience for Metro stations. The area is good for bars eating houses and local shops,it feels we are in Paris and not in tourist city,as you mix with the locals when eating out and having a drink. The ride into Central Paris is easy on the Metro and takes no time at all.
“Can wait to go back”
Very good place and nice people there!
“Nothing fancy, but a great neighborhood”
This hotel was on super sale when I booked it, and some of the reviews made me a bit nervous, but all I really needed was a place to sleep so I wasn't too concerned and decided to book anyway. The hotel is in Montmarte, a really cool neighborhood near the Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur, etc. The staff was friendly and spoke English to us when we were polite enough to attempt French. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but the bakery across the street had the BEST BREAD EVER...it was goat cheese (chevre) and raison...one euro a loaf and one of the best things i ate there. All in all, the hotel was fine and served our purpose. They were doing some renovations on the floor we were staying on which kind of made everything smell like paint, but we were never there during the day long enough to be bothered by it. It wouldn't stop me from staying there again.
“good location for the price good value”
in walking distance to center decent place to stay spartan and small but location is a plus .Service attentive and nice trying to understand and speak english
“Good for a short stay”
We were only staying one night so I didn't want to spend a huge amount. All the reviews I'd read of this hotel had said it was clean, unlike some of the others in that price range near the station, so I booked this. The hotel was conveniently located with two metro stations nearby which helped with getting round. Both the hotel and the room were very clean. The room was small but I was prepared for this but beware, the walls are very thin. The breakfast was perfectly reasonable as well and the staff were efficient throughout. All in all, I was happy with my choice but if I was staying for longer I would probably choose somewhere with more creature comforts.
“Affordable,Quaint and Charming in Paris”
The hotel staff was exceptional if we needed help or assistance they did everything they could to accommodate us. If they spoke English they spoke it freely, if we had trouble with the French language they were patient with us and even helped us pronounce it correctly. The room as depicted on the web was small, but we expected that. The tile floor was our only issue, the grout was filthy. It has not been scrubbed in years. Bring house shoes or slippers. The surrounding pastry, butcher and grocery shops are wonderful and even open on Sundays. It's like the So Ho area in NYC, a city inside a city.
“Clean, comfortable and very french”
I went on holidy with my daughter and grandson and spent 5 nights at this hotel in Montmartre in Octovber 2009. It was very comfortable, clean and the staff were very helpful. The included breakfast is a great advantage in this city where prices have risen steeply. The location is great for visiting the Sacre Coeur and other highlights in Montmartre and the metro stations are within easy reach. I would use it again as an affordable base to visit the sites.
