The property was closed when we arrived. The sign said closed for 2 years for remodeling. You can imagine our shock to find out the room we paid for was unavailable.

Awful room service, ancient rooms.
Probably one of the worst hotels I have stayed in Paris and I travel every month. The room and bathroom were ancient. I have stayed in other hotels that are dated but well kept, this was not the case. I ordered room-service as I felt unwell to move around, the burger was cold and tasting terrible. I had therefore had chips for dinner and left the entire burger to be collected. When I complained to reception that this was unacceptable for the price, he said I would have to submit a complaint - I find this completely inconvenient and if the hotel is reading this please refund me the € for this cold, tasteless burger.

it pains me to write these negative remarks. first, I would like to mention that there staff is incredibly helpful, respectful and pleasant. however, the hotel is in a desperate need for a complete overhaul, the first night I was given a shoe box to sleep in!!!. the staff was courteous to upgrade me to another room that was large. the carpet and décor are run down, inoperable plugs & lights, black dust covers the air vent, dust on upper shelf of tv !!! etc. this hotel should not be sold as 5 star maybe 3 star only. sorry to tell you this. but you have a long list before you call this hotel luxury !!!!

Quiet elegance in the heart of Paris. Impeccable amenities in walking distance of designer boutiques and high end jewelers. Conveniently near hot chocolate at Angelina, tea at Le Meurice or the cozy bistro, Le Castigione across the street. Rooms are exceptionally clean and well appointed.

The reception staff is terrible, but otherwise the hotel is great. Unfortunately until they change the reception staff, we cannot recommend this hotel. Here are the positives: - great location - nice breakfast - rooms are small but spacious enough. Also very authentic parisian Negatives: - the reception staff is so bad that they ruined our entire hotel stay, especially the lady Varvara. - when we checked in after a long flight, you'd hope for a polite and courteous staff. Unfortunately we got the opposite. Varvara made us feel like she's doing us a favor by letting us stay in the hotel. Hmm, last I checked we paid for it. - we asked for a few recommendations multiple times - cruise, cafes, etc. Everytime they'd tell us that they'll research and get back. But guess how many times we heard back. Yep. Zero. We eventually stopped following up and just pulled up our laptops and did research. Thankfully they had fast internet! Anyway, this hotel is totally worth recommending but when you are on a vacation, you hate to be mistreated.. And unfortunately that's what Varvara did to us here. On the way out, Varvara confronted us as to why we wrote a negative check in review on Expedia. We explained to her about the recommendations we had asked for multiple times, but instead of apologizing she attacked us back saying that they have more positive reviews than negative and it's our problem that we didn't have a good experience at the hotel. Huh?

Impressed.
Beautiful old building tastefully restored. Welcoming staff were awesome. Location is great. Room was incredible, received an upgrade and I was very impressed. However, it was quite expensive, the breakfast menu was quite limited (but the dining room is impressive) and one thing that really bothered me was that all the cooking staff went out on strike, the kitchen was closed and we were not told. People are literally knocking on the door for a coffee to no answer. This could have been communicated better to guests.

Amazing location, the rooms are very spaceus, the bed very confortable . the breakfast is very good, and the staff very helpful. they gave us a really cute box of mini chocolates, I really like that kind of details. the only thing missing its a big lobby to sit. otherwise is perfect!

Wonderful hotel in perfect location
We had a delightful 3 days in this gorgeous hotel, the furnishings were very elaborate befitting a hotel of the era, very glamorous. The bed was super comfy and everything so perfectly clean. There was lots of choice for breakfast with quite an extensive range on offer. The bar was pretty small and didn’t seem to be open after 8 p.m. which was surprising. The location excellent, we walked to the Eiffel Tower and visited Sainte-Chapelle with the magnificent stained-glass windows, probably about 8km for the day, not too bad for 66 and 70 year olds! Can recommend the hotel.

Wonderful stay!
We just returned home last night and our stay at Hotel de Vendome was exceptional. The neighborhood is fantastic, the staff.....all those we interacted with = TERRIFIC! Special kudos to Fabrice, Danielle, and Kevin in the restaurant, front desk and lobby hats off to Suden,Varvara, and Luc, all just wonderful. They were always welcoming when we came in, always acknowledged us, gave us tips and recommendations, and were just very kind and warm. I wish I knew all their names to acknowledge each one! Only negative for me is my bed good have been better, and our room overall was just a bit tired, yet still lovely. Good job Hotel de Vendome - we will be back!

The best location next to the ritz and mandarin oriental, high end shopping and dining. The best staff, friendly and supportive. huge rooms (for Paris standards). Very good breakfast. All of the above for a fraction of the cost of comparable hotels.

Superb hotel
I only am reticent to write too favorable a review for fear that either the hotel will be fully booked when I want to stay again or the rates will increase dramatically. For the quality, this hotel is a great value. The location cannot be better. The staff is splendid in every department...front desk, breakfast room and housekeeping. The breakfasts were delicious. Even after staying for eight days, I still did not want to leave.

The lady at the front desk when we checked in was very rude. She continued to be rude the entire stay. Anything I asked for was a firm No. She had an attic tie the entire time. I️ have stayed in hotels all over the world this was my least favorite. Never going back there. The hotel is positioned very nicely. Great area. Next time I’d rather stay at the Westin Vendome. Customer service should be something that they need to work on. I asked for some water and she looked at me like I had ten heads. What five star hotel doesn’t provide water to their guests? Horrible attitude she had. Again, if the hotel was not prepaid, I️ would have switched. They put me on the second floor and the elevator was broken when arrived. Go somewhere else folks.

Unbeatable location in Paris
Unbeatable location in Paris with walking distance from Louvre, Opera, Orsay Museum, shopping, and restaurants. Service is very attentive and work hard to please. Rooms are big for Paris but quite dated and you can feel it is time for needed renovations. However, there is a reason we keep coming back as other hotels don't fit our desire to quickly access many key areas.

Luxurious hotel
Very well pleased especially with the dining staff and the bellman. The dining room was gorgeous and the staff was just amazing. Didn't get the heater and AC though working at night. When front desk was called, they told us that the fixer already went home. Would have appreciated if they offered us to transfer to another room. I'm wondering if the remote for music and window was just for display because it didn't work. Overall, it was a very luxurious hotel. LV store is just across the street and the area is excellent. Would still come back though.

Weekend in Paris
My son and I met in Paris for the weekend and chose to stay at the hotel based on my husbands stay there 55 years ago with his parents! It’s a lovely hotel in the perfect neighborhood, close to many sites, great shopping, and easily walkable to many places. The staff was consistently welcoming, professional, and helpful. The rooms, while very clean, are a little dated. For example, there is an elaborate 1970s-era entry, lighting and sound management system that could easily be replaced with a WiFi-based system. The carpets are a bit worn and could use shampooing, but the bathrooms are sparkling clean and perfectly outfitted. We would definitely recommend the hotel to friends .

Elegant Fasionable Boutique Hoitel
We loved our recent six night stay at the Hotel Vendome. The location is terrific and trendy, and within easy walking distance of the metro, the Tuileries, the Louvre, the Musée D’Orsay as well as the Place de Concorde and the Grand Palais. The Hotel is located at ground zero of the fashion district and is surrounded by chic boutiques and numerous small restaurants. The Place de Vendome is a magical delightful square both by day and by night. Our room, a deluxe double, faced toward the rear courtyard, and was spacious, spotless, comfortable and absolutely tranquil at night. The staff of the hotel was friendly, responsive and helpful in booking dinner and concert reservations, and giving touring advice. We did not have any meals at the hotel.

Hotel de Vendome, Classic Styled Boutique Hotel.
When we looked for our hotel in Paris we wanted a hotel to be central and comfortable. We stayed for three nights at the Hotel de Vendome. The hotel front desk staff helped us with cut the queue tickets for many of the top attractions which was so very helpful considering this gives you a more time to explore Paris without the inconvenience of having to spend hours in a queue. The rooms were of classic style, clean, comfortable with a large bathroom, which had a bath, shower, twin sinks and bede. The beds were so comfortable and we had a good night's sleep after having long walks around Paris. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive and they were able to speak many languages like English and Russian which for us was so warm and welcoming. The staff are excellent, they also helped us in booking our taxi back to the airport.
