“Good Location!”
The best thing about the hotel is just outside a metro station.
“Cute but tiny room”
It was really a cute little room. The decor is nice, and the included breakfast was good. The staff was helpful and friendly. I rated them lower for comfort. The room and the elevator are much too small. We also didn't like having two twin beds side-by-side to count as a double bed. We're married, and, well...
“Nice hotel, great location”
The hotel is located next to Metro Jacques Bonsergent and 5 minutes walk from Gare de L'Est. Clean hotel, nice staff. Small rooms, but comfortable. The showers are very small, so if you are kind of big you will have a hard time taking a shower. There are many bistros and cafes around the hotel where you can have a good meal for a lot less than you would pay close to the tourist attractions. Wiifi only works in the lobby.
“Great for the Price!!”
The hotel was clean, centrally located, and the staff was very helpful. I stayed in a single room with balcony which was great for the price. Lots of brasserie's for brunch near by and the Metro is a cross the street. The only negative is the staff speaks english but limited. The breakfast is expensive 9 euros so I would go out. I really like it and I would definitely stay again. Oh yes, tiny elevator but that's Paris....
“It depends on which room you get”
Over the course of three days we had 3 different rooms. The first room had a lovely large marble bathroom, but we left this room almost immediately because of the smell of cigarette smoke and the tiny size of the room. The hall lights on this floor also shut off every minute or so unless the switch was re-pressed. They offered to move us to another room that first evening and, upon request, agreed to move us to a larger room the following day. The second room we had was relatively clean, not large, but we could put down our suitcases. There was a bit of a stain on the walls, but other than that it was relatively clean. Everything was just fine, but we discovered in the morning that the switch for turning on the shower was missing. Our third room was the best--a decent sized room with a decent sized bathroom which worked. It even had a balcony to the street. The hall lights did not shut off on this floor. There are elevators, but they are small. The third room was very clean and the beds were all comfortable. So, depending on which room you get, you could get something 2 stars-ish or 3 stars-ish. Upon my return to paris, I would probably stay at the kyriad montparnasse instead, at which I stayed on a previous trip, rather than do the crap shoot of rooms here.
“Not impressed”
The hotel, like most european hotels, did not have air conditioning and it was a very hot week in Paris.
“Its ok, only just”
It was ok, be a bit careful of the neighbourhood. Missed having bath mat. We asked for twin beds and got a double bed.
“Okay, but hard to find”
They need better directions on their website. It took us almost two hours to find the motel. Room was small, but good for what we needed. The heater worked great.
“Hotel ok”
The hotel was ok, we had to change room but only because we wanted a double bed, which we kind of got, it was two beds pushed together so not very comfortable. Location was ok though. I think they could do with some improvements in the hotel with regard to the upkeep. No tea facilities in the room and when I asked for a cup of tea at reception at 6.30pm on evening they couldn't provide any milk as the chef wasn't there, found this a bit strange. We didn't spend much time in hotel as so much else to do though.
“Handy base for Paris break”
Hotel itself OK, comfortable enough but showing its age. Location very convenient for Eurostar passengers. Only about 20m from Jaques Bonsergent metro station, two stops from Gare du Nord. Plenty of nearby restaurants that are better value than ones more in the centre. Try walking up to the nearby canal. A good base for a short stay.
