It's a small clean hotel in very good location near the opera, the room was small as expected in paris but convenient nonetheless.Note that the elevator is tiny, so if you have very large bags you might want to ask for a lower floor.

“Great location and great 'no frills' hotel”

Outstanding location behind the Louvre and Louvre metro stop and right next to Palais Royal. Easy walking to Opera Garnier, Jardins Concorde and Tuileries - we walked a lot and are quite fit so we found it easy to walk everywhere in Paris but these are the immediate sights near the hotel. Very basic hotel with friendly staff. We did not opt for the breakfast as there are so many bakeries on our way to see the sights. The street is one way and not a major one so is very quiet and our room faced into a courtyard so was also very quiet. The room had everything you need for those who are not in it much, bed, shower, cooling fan, tv and windows you can open.

“Perfect for Louvre fans”

I was a little apprehensive as I was traveling alone and had 1 day in Paris with the sole purpose of visiting the Louvre. The strikes disrupted the regular schedules for trains from the airport. After asking a few people I finally got to the Louvre. Wanting to maximize my time at the Museum, I decided to go to the hotel only after my visit thinking that finding the hotel would be a challenge. In retrospect, I wish I had gone to the hotel first and dropped off my back pack. C'est la vie. The hotel is literally "around the corner" from the Louvre. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a couple of good bakeries. I felt very safe even after dark. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and explained how best to get to the airport the next day, even writing down directions. For the money I paid and considering it is Paris, I was very satisfied.

“Montpensier Hotel Review”

The Montpensier is only a two star hotel, but it is clean and friendly, with helpful staff at the reception desk. It is also well located close by to Palais Royal and the Louvre. All in all, you could do a lot worse.

“Location plus!”

Location, Location, Location. This hotel is truly value for money. It is located within walking distance to the Louvre, Musee D'orsay, Opera, Notre Dame as well as the St Germain and Latin quarters. With the metro and batobus close by evreywhere else is within easy reach. The rooms are small and the hotel is a little tired but it is still very comfortable. You won't beat the price and location! Our only tip would be to request a room on the first or second floors. We will definately stay again.
