“Great place to call "home" in Paris”
The staff was excellent. From housekeeping, to breakfast staff, to the front desk, SUPERB. Breakfast was perfect and very reasonably priced. The hotel "common areas" were beautiful. My room was in need of a little updating, but it was the least expensive accommodation they offer ,and it was clean and comfortable. The location is unbeatable. Looking forward to my next visit!
“Very good, very Parisian”
I enjoyed the stay very much, ..start with kindness and you are likely to receive nothing but kindness in France in return. The staff was excellent, responding quickly and professionally on all instances. Most everything in the hotlel has been recently redone, but it is still a two hundred year old hotel. To me it could not have been better, great loacation and no corporate feel to the hotel. Room service food was very good and easy access to metro and bus stops. I'll be back!!
“better than expected”
room was comfortable..saw other reviews that really critcized this hotel, but We were very satisfied.the other reviews were wrong...will stay here again...location is excellent for attractions or shopping or people watching..car paring is availble @vinci park 5-8 minute walk...staff accomodating...rooms spacious for our needs (three person room)..lots of eateries close and sanwich shops close that are inexpensive...stay there you won't be sorry.
“Great Choice”
This Hotel was wonderful and in a great location (near the Louve Museum). The staff was friendly and very helpful. It had a great bar and restuarant within the hotel.
“Amazing Location, Nice Staff, Comfortable Rooms, Would go Back in a Heart Beat!”
This was my third time staying in Paris and my first at this Hotel. I felt that this hotel was by far the best. The location is absolutely amazing, it is literally across the street from the Louvre. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had and the cleanliness of my room I feel was great. My room was a good size for a Paris hotel, with a twin bed, desk, armoire and sofa chair and mini bar and space to move around. I highly recommend this Hotel because for the money you are not going to find any better. I would go back and stay at this hotel for sure. And when the other reviews say that it is loud, it is only until 11ish then it dies down until morning. It is near the Louvre afterall but it never kept me up. Overall, it was a good decision to stay at this hotel
“won't find better for less in this walk to everything area”
First I would note that all the other reviews add some value and are accurate. My input is that for the money this place is a real deal. It is clearly not 4 star at this time but it is nicer than 3 and I paid less than most (all) 3 stars anywhere near the area. Walk to Orsee, and pont neuf/notre dame even. the breakfast room has 25 ft high ceilings and guilding etc. and I recommend at least one breakfast there assuming you are hungry (cost is 15Euros but you will find whatever you are looking for and it is nice start to the day. Don't take the lowest price room as the next catagory is only 10 dollars more and I was on the top floor with 2 small step out balconies. If you do take the underground you will need exact coins to get in as there is no service at the nearest stations (I left for airport with my rollerbag without the coins and it was "awkward". I don't think you will find nicer for less. Note, no nightlife closeby though.
“The Ultimate Belle Epoque French Statement”
This was a very pleasant surprise. The room was huge and the bathroom was very nice. There were many beautiful, full length windows that were operational and the fixtures were truly vintage French. The bed was exceedingly comfortable when compared to other rooms I have stayed in in Paris. The room was very clean. The detail of the carving on the doors made me feel like I had stepped back in time; which is exactly what I was looking for on this trip. It is a beautiful, old hotel that is updated enough for convenience. Charming and historic.
“Location, location, location”
Fantastic location, walking distance of almost everything. My room was comfortable (European standards) and very clean. Staff is frienly and always ready to help. They should donate the computer to have access to Internet to the Louvre Museum because is from the past century. Anyway,I highly recommend the Normandy.
“unbeatable location”
This is a very pleasant discovery. The location is tremendous (round the corner from the Louvre). I was very apprehensive after reading other reviews, but shouldn't have been. Although a little faded round the edges (and nothing worse than that), it is spotless, staff very pleasant and has all necessary facilities; remarkable considering the price. Didn't have hotel breakfast, so can't comment, but the cafe nearly next door offers a very good breakfast deal.
“Loved the Hotel”
We were concerned with some of the reviews that other travelers had given this hotel but we had a wonderful experience. We did get the upgraded "superior" room. Our room was beautiful, quiet, had a lovely view of the Paris street and cafes. The location couldn't be better and the staff went out of their way to be exceedingly helpful. Everyone was courteous and all spoke excellent English. It was a great trip made even better by our stay at this hotel.
