“Excellent”
When I checked in, the first thing I was told was that I'd been upgraded from a standard to an executive room; not sure what I did to deserve it but I wasn't going to argue! Great hotel and great location. The only minor complaint I had was that the toilet (which was separate from the bathroom) had no ventilation, which meant that it didn't "air" well at all...
“Very Impressed with Superior Room”
Lots of room for us and the baby cot. Great view of Tuileries and Musee d'Orsay.
“Would love to go back”
A very good hotel with extremely helpful satff - pricey for drinks, food etc. but as a base could not be beaten. Swimming pool a bit eerie but I liked it - not in the afternoon as it is full of kids!! Location wise this hotel could not be better.
“Location, Location, Location”
What a fab location! Jardins de Tuileries in front, Louvre and Musee D'Orsay to the left and right, Place de Vendome and the fashion district behind. The metro is just there, so is the batobus, even a fairground for the kids. Just doorstep away. We watched the Tour de France come in on the tv, then rushed downstairs to watch it outside. Buy food on the road behind, lots of Japanese and Vietnamese, Paris is cheap compared to London.
“Good Value for Money”
Will definitely go back. Went with wife and 2 boys 8,7 . Had booked a Junior suite which was not available due to some technical fault but was offered 2 double rooms instead which were interconected - that was excellent !! Staff very nice and always willing to help ... booked taxis etc ... can speak English Excellent everything (location, close to sites, staff) ... will definitely recommend
“Great location, friendly staff”
The hotel is very central, a perfect location if you want to be able to walk around the main central sites and not to far from the RER station to get to Charles De Gaul(10 min walk with luggage). The room had one bathroom with two showers in it and another toilet room. Usual niceties of slippers shower robe, selection of shower gels etc and hair dryer. The hotel allows you to leave your luggage with them on your last day if you have time before you need to travel to the airport. We didn't try the hotels food due to price and didn't try the spa because we just spent too much time out in Paris. The staff were friendly and spoke good English.
“Bent over backwards (with prompting)”
We got a great deal on a junior suite-- two nice sized rooms facing a pretty courtyard. On the second night, it there was a very noisy leaky pipe outside our window. They promised to move us to suite while we were out the next morning. Instead, they moved us into two small connecting rooms facing the street. When we complained, they moved us into a very large suite. The hotel is in a fabulous location. We loved it.
“Superb location, a little tired ?”
You cannot fault the St James for location. In fact, its hard to imagine better. Right next to Tulleries metro for getting around and moments to the Louvre. The staff were great at all times. Helpful and polite. We stayed in a suite, so the room had plenty of space and was well appointed - everything we needed. The only criticism is that the decor is tired and showing its age.
“Superb Location”
The hotel was perfectly situated for all the major attractions which were in walking distance and had a number of excellent cafes to explore nearby.
“Great hotel in the center of Paris”
St James and Albany's location could not be better. It is across the street from the Jardin de Tuileries, and the metro station Tuileries, within a short walk from the Louvre. For a tourist, this can't be beat - within 15-min walk radius you have L'Opera, Place de la Concorde, Le Louvre and the Left Bank. Moving around the city is a snap with 3 metro stations within a 5-min walk, incl. Tuileries across the street. The #72 bus stops right at the door, and will take you to the Trocadero all along the Seine. It is clean and well-maintained hotel with a spa and fancy restaurant. Inner court yard offers a great way to dine on a good day. The hotel is spacious enough for business functions as well, including a rarity for Parisian hotels - specious lobby and long hall ways set up for private meetings or relaxing in the leather arm-chairs. I always stay there on my business trips if I need to meet with partners. The rooms are large enough given the age of the building. Recently the hotel completed a renovation project, and updated certain elements of the room decor and conveniences. If you have a room facing outside, you'll get great views of Paris on one side and Parisian rooftops on the other. Inner-yard-facing rooms may not be similarly spectacular, but it never bothered me. My most favorite are the rooms under the roof in the back of the hotel: Exposed wooden bars, round tilting windows, fantastic views. This is a hotel I would recommend to both tourists and business travelers.
