“Typical good Parisian hotel”
Convenient for the RER from CDG, and on the metro, the hotel is close to a neighbourhood Parisian street market in Rue Daguerre - listen to the traders compete against each other and offer Parisian attention to the women passing by. Next door is le Zinc d'Enfer for cheap good wine and bistro food. One block away is Cafe d'Enfer, under the same management, for great French food at Ok prices - other choices within a block's walk. The hotel itself is stylish. It is true the rooms are small as Parisian hotel rooms are and the choice of channels on the TV is limited but the hot water in the bath is indeed hot, the sheets are clean and I like a hotel room with a balcony. The breakfast is not cheap but the fruit salad is fresh, the scrambled eggs and bacon are good, the bread and pastries are fresh that morning from a good baker. This hotel is a quiet, unassuming, high-quality pleasure set in a typical French quartier. I'll go back.
“Very good value for the money”
Clean room and bathroom, working AC, working elevator, extremely helpful staff - hotel conveniently located - close to metro and rue Daguerre (small shops and cafes). Highly recommended.
“Cute hotel with a good location”
In a great neighborhood, that is a little far from the tourist areas (on foot) but near a RER and metro station. Very European design, Lots of wood and rich fabrics but with a large and modern bathroom. The rooms were a decent size (For Paris) and our room had a nice view of the cemetery and a small park
“Rebel Review”
We had read other reviews which were mixed but we were very happy with the Hotel. The room was a good size for Paris and the bathroom was also more than adequate. The location was very convenient to everything so it was very easy to get around. It is located near a bustling street Rue De Daguerre; that contained Cafe's, Bars and shops selling just about everything and there was also a Supermarket nearby. We did not eat Breakfast in the Hotel although it did look good. We preferred to sit on the bustling street and watch the World go by. We were within walking distance of most of the Major attractions but preferred to hop on a Bus or take the Metro. We were very happy with the Hotel and would stay there again and would gladly recommend to our friends.
“What a bargain”
Expedia's price on this hotel couldn't be beaten. The hotel is located in the Latin quarter, a very pretty area of the city that is a little way from the tourist hotspots, but is in very close proximity to a major metro line. We were about 20 minutes away from most of the main attractions by metro. The room was much larger than I expected and very nice, with plenty of room and nice furnishings. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the 18 euro continental breakfast, but you can easily skip it since there are cafes and even a bakery within a couple of blocks. All in all, it was a very nice hotel and a great deal! We had never been to Paris before and I think this was a perfect hotel for someone unfamiliar with the city looking for a safe, nice, accessible but affordable place to stay.
“French flavoured great hotel”
This hotel is typically Parisian - i.e. the rooms are pretty small but are docorated traditionally and in the french 20th style. The staff were exceptionally helpful, polite and efficient. They always respected our mangled French and offered English only when we got stuck. Unpromted tips for what to do & how to get there, and the place was maintained well & cleanly. Def recommend for the price - Paris is expensive right now but the hotel was cheap. The location is not in the think of it - but in a nicer & quieter neighbourhood that i would recommend also - never more than a handful of stops away on the Metro.
“excellent hotel”
We just came back from our trip on may 2009 to Paris. It was like a dream . We choose the hotel by reading the reviews from expedia.com. Villa Montparnasse it is an excellent hotel, and when we go back to Paris we are going to choose the same hotel. The location is great, and the service the same.
“We'll be back!”
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the Denfort - Rochereau metro stop. There are bakeries, cafes and restaurants around the corner plus fresh food markets and a supermarket. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and very comfortable. We spent all day sightseeing and at the end of the day it was great to come back to a room with space. We really enjoyed our stay there ( 3 nights).
“Lovely French Boutique Hotel”
46 rooms in a quiet residential neighborhood - close to the Metro and an inexpensive taxi ride up to the attractions of Paris. I will definitely stay at the Villa Montparnasse again. The staff were helpful and friendly...Delightful is the key word for this hotel.
“Great staff, lovely area, good hotel”
Good Points: 1) Very friendly and helpful staff 2) Near to cafes, so great for starting your day with a coffee and ending with a glass of wine 3) Near to metro and tour bus route Bad Points: 1) Rooms are small
