“Great hotel, great location!”
This hotel was perfect. It is a stone's throw from the train station, and just 10 mins or so walk to downtown (Parma is a small town). Room included breakfast and 30mins free internet. The room was a decent size, clean, and relatively comfortable. Really great overall. Parma is worth staying in!
“just for one night”
the hotel is great for one night because it is near the central train station, but a little far from downtown, or the center. The hotel is good and clean. But if I would go for more than one night, I would choose one closer to the Opera House.
“Great Location”
This hotel is in a great location near the train station and the center of town. The people working in the hotel were friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel.
“Ottimo!”
- Stayed in Astoria Residence (/Executive) Hotel in July 2011 for four nights, double room, breakfast included. - The hotel is located near a train station but the sound wasn't enough to disturb my sleep. Its location is perfect; the main sights are within 10-20 minute walk through Strada Giuseppe Garibaldi and there are plenty of restaurants and fast food shops around, as well as a couple of small supermarkets. - Staff spoke English, were friendly and helpful. - The room was large and very clean, as was the bathroom. Cleaners came every day and did a very good job indeed. Only downside was the view which was the side of a building but the room was still bright. - Breakfast (7-10am) was basic but adequate, with a good selection of hot drinks. - The bus to and from the hotel and G.Verdi Airport is the number 6 (ticket machine just outside the airport exit), costs about €1.20 and lasts for 1 hour. Overall I only really have good things to say about Astoria, and I would definitely stay there again.
“Parma experience”
The hotel was good and proper. Conveniently located near the train station. Close to the historical down town (10--15 minutes walking), and the airport is 10-15 min by car. Ask for the 30 minutes free internet per email account! I really liked Parma, a surprising interesting place for a day or so. Enjoyed the cheese and persciutto! And a hidden Leorando in the museum!
“Good inexpensive hotel”
This hotel was easily in walking distance to all we wanted to see and do (and eat!) in Parma. The hotel had clean, basic accomodations. It was not fancy, but it did the trick. We would go back again.
“Excellent location, could do with some freshening up”
The location of the Astoria hotel is extremely convenient: it is very close to the train station, yet it is quiet, no noisy trains in the background and neighbourhood seemed very safe and clean, the main squares in Parma are only a short walk away, no need to take taxis. Breakfast was abundant and of very good quality. The room was spacious, there were toiletries in the bathroom (very clean, although I have to say I did not like the vinegary smell of the towels) as well as a hairdryer. The mini bar is well affordable. The carpets and decor are however a bit tired and the air conditioning could also be a bit noisy for light sleepers, for the rates charged this hotel remains altogether an excellent budget choice.
“Great Value for money , in an ideal location”
Overall the hotel was well worth the money we paid, located 5 minutes walk from the centre of Parma, rooms were comfortable, breakfast was good. The only negatives was no bar open . Would stay here again.
“Great location for train station”
Great location, walking distance from the train station, friendly helpful staff, clean, with an ample continental breakfast. Decor in bedrooms needs updating but otherwise a good hotel
