“Excellent Hotel”
Excellent hotel. Room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. Service was great, breakfast and dinner buffet were a blast, facilities e.g. pool, lounge, bar, restaurants, beach were all very good.
“would stay there again good centrally located hotel value for money”
i would certainly recommend this hotel except during there 'merdeka' [august 30th -sept 3rd]as it was very noisy outside due to the fireworks going off at 12.30am then again at approx 2 hour intervals[everynight][ also i would like to recommend to the hotel that the music in the lobby go off a little earlier [say 10.30] as for people in the rooms close to the pool are unable to go to bed till after midnight then are woken early when families start to use the pool. [another solution would be to move the band to the other side of the room so the music doesn't carry as much outside] but i still like this hotel its very pleasant surroundings and its position is good all in all a very comfortable and pleasant hotel[next time will request a differant room if music still in same position]
“Great place to stay!”
This hotel has everything. Great location, beautiful pool and grounds, very friendly and helpful staff, and large and extensive buffet breakfast. It also has a kids club which from experience (years ago) was also great! The only thing (which is purely personal), is that the bed was really hard! Apart from that, I have stayed here a few times and have loved it each time. I highly recommend the Parkroyal Penang Hotel!
“Park Hotel, Penang”
Park Hotel, Penang was rated 3 1/2* by expedia, it should be 4 1/2*! The hotel was excellent, everything about it was good including the decor.The staff was friendly, hotel food was delicious. I would definately go back there again.
“Very friendly Hotel, would definately go back”
Although its an hour from the airport this is an excellent hotel.he staff are friendly the pool and gardens are very good, and the beach is fine.The breakfast is phenominal, I never needed lunch.There is plenty of evening shopping outside the hotel and plenty of good restaurants
“ParkRoyal Hotel Penang”
This was the second time we stayed at the ParkRoyal this year. I booked a room facing the sea with a balcony. We were put on the 7th floor and had a great view. I love the location of this hotel, surrounded by great cafes and restaurants, particularly the Living Room cafe. The night market is right outside the hotel, there are plenty of mini marts nearby to buy cheap beer and soft drink. The hotel staff are attentive and friendly and the service is terrific. Our toilet flush chain broke and they fixed it within 30 minutes. The tailor in the lobby makes excellent quality shirts at a good price. I cant comment on the food as we only ate breakfast in the hotel, no complaints there, plenty of fresh food and good variety. We sat outside the food area in a thatched hut each day for our breakfast, looking out at the ocean, wonderful! Took several tours of the island and we were picked up from the lobby on time. The tour guides are quite funny and most informative. The pools at the hotel are excellent and they sit in perfectly manicured tropical gardens. I will be back in Penang next year sometime hopefully and I will stay at the ParkRoyal again, I like the hotel.
“Great hotel”
We stayed here for 5 nights in Nov 2011, hotel is beautifully appointed, right on the beach, great pool and gym, fantstic buffet breakfast. Great for kids. It's also very good value for money - food and drinks are at Western prices but right outside the hotel are numerous cafes and bars selling great food at local prices, ie very cheap. One tip - make sure you book a sea-facing room; we were in a "hill view" room which looks on to the road out the front - beautiful room but no view or balcony. Sea view rooms with a balcony are the ones to go for
“Excellent”
Excellent, is the word. The hotel itself is what one would expect from a 4star+ hotel, but the staff are what makes this hotel one worth staying at.
“Friendly. Comfortable. Nice beach. Too far from Georgetown.”
The hotel staff is friendly and the beach in front of the hotel is very nice. The food in the hotel is a bit pricey but there are options outside on the street. The hotel is on one of the nicer beaches on the island, but this also means it is very far from anything else. To go to any of the attractions on the island or Georgetown ( good night life) you will need to take a 30-45min ~ 30 rm taxi.
“Parkroyal Penang”
I enjoyed my stay but I do have a few small issues with the hotel. Firstly when we arrived we were told it would be a few minutes before our 2 rooms were ready. It was 90 minutes, I would have preferred a bit of honesty. We were also told to get a welcome drink from the bar, I was told at reception I could have any drink we wanted, got to the bar and order some beers only to be told we had to pay for it as the welcome drink was only a fruit juice. Secondly, the toilet in our room leaked water all the time, so the bathroom floor was always wet, they didnt fix it when reported. Thirdly, the very nearby mosque woke us all up at 5.45am every day. I am not a Muslim and really dont want to hear a very loud p.a. system calling people to prayers every morning and evening. The beach in front of the hotel was a bit dirty and my wife got oil all over her foot and the hotel didnt help us to try to remove it. Finally, on the day we left they tried to charge us 75 Ringits for drinks that we did not order or have and they lost our booking for a minibus to go to the airport. Brekkie was really good considering it was free, no complaints there. The weekly snake show in the gardens on Saturdays was quite entertaining. All in all it was ok but I would have to consider booking at another hotel next time.
