“A place to be Appreciated by the Business Traveller and Families”
The 2 bedroom apartment is a fully fitted out condo. Plenty of room to relax in, or cook your favourite meal. One must note that these are serviced apartments, not a proper hotel, so room service is very limited, as is dining options at the hotel. Great location across the road from the train station, and dining nearby.
“Location Location”
Myself and wife chose this hotel for a two night weekend getaway for it's location and the fact it looked modern and new. We were not disapointed at all, it's location to shops, restaurants, the River and transport is ideal and the hotel presented very well, looking bright and clean. the onsight bar and restaurant is conviently downstairs which attracts a noisy but happy crowd. Our very sizeable studio room had a balcony that looked out over Barracks street with a small table and two chairs for us to relax in and watch the busy streets below. The room itself was large with a fridge, sink and microwave, lounge chair and coffee table, huge bed and LCD TV with a good sized bathroom. It was clean and well maintained. It might cost $25 per night to park your car but to me it was worth the peace of mind knowing our brand new set of wheels was locked behind two big electric gates. It's a fantastic hotel and would happily recommend to anyone.
“Great City Location apart from the view.”
We arrived in Perth on a very warm afternoon in November and were greeted by a friendly smile who was our efficient receptionist at check-in. trip. One disappointment was the view of the carpark, surrounding highrise buildings and giant rubbish dumpster from our balcony. The website had stated 'city or river views'. .There's a lot of rebuilding happening nearby, I'm guessing it's in an effort to clean up this part of the CBD which I applaud as this hotel's location is excellent, being a 5 minute walk to the two malls, the railway station and major shopping precinct. You don't need a car to get around the CBD because TransPerth provide the Red, Blue or Yellow Cat bus service, which leaves every 15 minutes from designated areas around Perth city and two of these bus stops are located conveniently across the road from the Medina. We had a one bedroom apartment which was nicely furnished, had a good-sized lounge and open plan dining area. The kitchen was modern and spacious and our apartment was serviced daily. We took advantage of the gymnasium though it was very basic; only 3 machines. We stayed 5 nights in total and the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, even recommending a Thai restaurant for us to try. We would stay there again, but I would ring first to request a decent view of the river next time!
“Good hotel in good location”
close to main train station and CBD shops comfortable hotel with good size rooms would recommend for people to stay here
“Great location !!”
Enjoyed our stay at Medina Executive Barrack Plaza nicely presented 1 B/Roon appartment. Great location for a City Stay. Close to Malls, shopping., restraunts & transport.
“Right in the heart of Perth”
The Medina in Barrack street is situated just around the corner from the shopping malls and near the station. It is a short walk for a ferry ride down the Swan River to Fremantle. Our two bedroom apartment was very comfortable with two king beds, the airconditioning excellent and it was great to be able to make our own breakfast, althought there are also lots of cafes available in the mall. There is also a supermaket close by where we bought supplies and stocked the good sized fridge. Service was efficient.
“very convenient 4 star appartment hotel”
location was fabulous --next to Perth station and Woolworths mall but sleazy area. Our room (4) on first floor was good but our friends on higher level (5) and more expensive room had living area with small window to blank wall and poor light --otherwise facilities wer similar --noted very varied size shape and lighting and view of rooms Reeption was pleasant but not knowledgeable. Small gym, sauna and lap pool with seating, restaurant attached was really a bar Expedia rate was excellent value for big double unit with full size kitchen well equipped and 2 TVs (-Median Grand had similar accommodation and all rooms had big windows to balonies but location was not near food outlets or main station (though above bus station which made some rooms noisy) and metro )
“Good value”
The apartment was roomy, clean and comfortable. Not the best part of the CBD but very good position as it was close to everything.
“Would go back”
The hotel itself was good. Our apartment was very clean and modern. It overlooked the nextdoor rooftop which was full of empty bottles and rubbish. The location is very central, but there is a XXX peep show and adult shop next door. Parking was a nightmare. They closed the carpark entrance for maintenance and we had to drive around for half an hour before it reopened.
“Medina's Perth city hotel WA”
Nice hotel and apartment had good amenities. There was a leak under the sink that leaked out onto kitchen floor and despite telling reception three times and someone apparently coming in to fix the leak it still leaked after a week. Taps in the kitchen and Bathroom were tight to turn and squeaked ( not good in the night!) One air conditioning unit in Living room which covered bedroom area, which it did on full power - even on low power the AC sounded like an aeroplane taking off! Good position in town center although there wer a couple of seedy sex shops nearly next door! Brilliant large internet shop two doors from hotel and cheap.Very close to FREE Cat bus stops and easy to walk to Swan river and the ferries. Also close to station
