“An oasis of old world charm in a fantastically frantic city”
Spent one night at Le Royal at the conclusion of a two week trip around Cambodia. From start to finish the experience was exceptional; the service had all the professionalism and refinement one would expect, but it was delivered in a wonderful friendly way. Beautiful facilities, wonderful food and deliciously comfortable rooms; can't recommend this hotel strongly enough.
“Raffles - the only place to stay”
We had one glorious night at Raffles. The rooms are large and sumptuous in the olde world style, very charming. It is a haven away from the hussle, bustle and grime of PP. The buffet breakfast was amazing and would meet every traveller's needs no matter how fussy. One little point though. We are adamant non-smokers and while we had a designated 'non-smoking' room, once guests moved into the next room ours became full of their cigarette smoke. We went to reception and explained the problem and were immediately moved to another room (smoke free). A designated non-smoking floor would overcome problem.
“Magnificent”
Hotel was wonderful. Every one in the hotel was so kind and courteous. We spent two weeks in Phnom Penh and stayed the first three nights in Raffles. After visiting many different areas in Cambodia we returned to Raffles for the last four nights as well and we enjoyed it so much.
“Old fashioned quality and service”

“First class”
This is an excellent hotel which lives up to the Raffles name. Every comfort is provided. As is usual with hotels of this class, however, extra services such as telephone calls, laundry and Internet access are overpriced. It is also not very central to the main sights or the eating and entertainment areas, although reasonably close to the riverfront where there are some bars and so on. However, tuk-tuks are very cheap in Phnom Penh (even with a tip to the driver) so it is quite easy to reach anything cheaply.

“Probably the best in Phnom Penh”
Probably the best choice (although also the most expensive) in Phnom Penh). We did not like the area near the quay, where most of the other hotels are located. Although Raffles is a bit far from most destinations in Phnom Penh (with the exception of Wat Phnom and including the quay, where we went for dinner both nights we were in PP), it's an easy, cheap and kind of fun tuk tuk ride away. The quality of the rooms, the grounds, and the breakfast--plus the peacefulness of the location--easily make up for the inconvenience of the location. There is, of course, some irony about visiting a city whose main tourist attractions (along with the royal palace) are the killing fields and S-21, a site of imprisonment and torture, while staying in a hotel that allows you to avoid legless men and impoverished mothers begging with infants by their sides. At my age (61), I prefer irony to physical discomfort. Others might decide otherwise.
“Great choice for people not willing to take a chance in Phnom Penh”
Very comfortable place to stay and expedia's prices made it affordable too. Pool was nice with attentive staff. The spa was well run and not to pricey.
“Simply the best”
We have stayed at Le Royal many times already, and every time we return to Phnom Phen, we stay only there. The service is impeccable, the hotel is full of history, great location. The most comfortable bed in the landmark rooms, nice bathrooms. Cocktails at the Elephant bar are very delicious and reasonably prices during happy hours. Everything about this hotel is so great! Will come back again for sure.
